Did anyone buy any of the limited editions on Record Store Day? I couldn't get to a shop so my chance has passed by this year.

More importantly, do you plan on keeping it, or just moving it on, on eBay, for great profit? I just had a look on our favourite auction site and it is littered with all the RSD merchandise; most annoying.

I didn't even try this year. Last year they'd all gone by the time I got to a shop, and by the look of it even if I'd queued up early in the morning I still wouldn't have got what I wanted. I did get a copy on eBay a couple of days later, for no premium and no P&P, but it made a mockery of the point of RSD though.

I went along to Music Mania in Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent) as I was up there visiting. There was a good vibe in the shop and they had a couple of performances from local musicians that were very good. Picked up a blue vinyl Public Image Limited Live at Isle Of Wight Festival double LP.
It should be remembered that the point of Record Store Day is to promote independent record shops themselves, not necessarily the upsurge in interest in vinyl and to that end the shop was very busy.

I read a post on Facebook by a record shop that was concerned that the amount of initial outlay and risk of being left with stock that no-one wants from RSD could bankrupt them, and whether they should even partake. I'm not sure whether they did, but I can understand why smaller shops might not want to get involved.

It's a shame that the record shops are set upon once a year by buyers with one eye on ebay; those buyers probably make a much bigger profit than the shops themselves. I'd imagine that the one day of inflated sales doesn't make much difference to the yearly takings. I like the idea of RSD though.

I was only after 1 item this year being the Suede dog man star live and when I arrived at my store around 7:15 am I was expected to have to Q but when I saw the Q round the corner and away up the street I just turned around and left , now the dearest I have seen it on ebay is around the £100 mark yet the cheapest £50, Had I been wanting more of a list I most likely would have waited but seeing the size of the Q made me think twice
