Re_Steve Gad - the first 10 seconds of '50 Ways To Leave Your Lover' isn't too shabby.

SCAATY is a great album, also a mention of the great Phil Ramone!

Would love to hear any anecdotes from the recording industry (either side of the glass) from any of you guys who work/have been involved in recording/engineering/production...
Get a copy of My Bass and Other Animals by Guy Pratt, or better still, see him live.

As much as I'd like to talk about Steve Gadd / Jeff Porcaro - the former incidentally was playing in the UK last weekend as part of greatest drummer in the world.

Here's this from a friend in the RPO.

PLEASE HELP TO SAVE AIR STUDIOS & SIGN THE FOLLOWING PETITION
Friday is the deadline for submissions....
You don't have to live in Camden to be entitled to make an objection.
Please don't just cut and paste the following submission as you will need to use your own wording.

==================

As one of the hundreds of musicians working in the London recording world, I strongly object to this application as it will render Air Studios inoperable for a period of at least 6 months.
I rely on this studio as one of only 2 studios still in existence large enough to record a full symphony orchestra.
The film companies which regularly use our skills will go elsewhere and will not return.
The closure of this magnificent studio will impact the livelihoods of a huge number of people - not only the musicians, but composers, arrangers, copyists, engineers,.....plus local hotels, pubs, restaurants, taxi firms etc...and brilliant people like Glen and Maria who man the desk
To make your objection, go to:-
https://forms.camden.gov.uk/cus/servlet/ep.app&#82...
Select year: 2015
Type in next box: 2089
Select letter: P

It might also be a good idea to send a copy of your objection to Tulip Siddiq: the local Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn. Tulip@tulipsiddiq.com

If you would like to examine the planning application itself, just use the link below and navigate around the site appropriately.

Seems not to be working at the moment but will make sure I sign.
When Air was on Oxford St the first time I went there was with Rupert Neve and his son Jonathan in relation to the sub mixer for Montserrat, man comes up to Rupert Neve and introduces himself, it was Bob Clearmountain, walk into the foyer and the Pretenders are sitting on a plush sofa, I thought after all those crap jobs I had since I left school I've finally found the dream one. The album they were working on was Get Close.
