I remember landing into Reading Rock festival after a ride down the A34 from Manchester on a GPZ500s, pulled into to buy the booze, stacked it all on the back seat and could barely keep the front wheel on the ground for the rest of the journey.
I guess it must all be very different now...

Check how much you're allowed in per day!
At Bloodstock, we'd bring crates in every morning, or the mornings when we were alive enough to go get to the shops, or when the bands didn't interest us. This may be different where you're going, though. But even if you're not allowed a "refuel" - how will security recognise your faces from the rest of thousands of people trying to do the same thing.
Another classic trick, is to wrap booze up in your tent/sleeping bag. We've got a few bottles in that way.

The hop farm festival was like this op. They said a small amount on the website but didnt let you take anything in on the gate. So 2 trips back to the car carrying wellies me and my old man has enough to last the day. Bought one pint for the plastic cup and saved a forune!

into venue, yes, right down to showsec "tasting" the bottles of water/coke being carried in at one festival!! meant to sort them out with something special but never got around to it.
"A mate told me" a bit of weed was a better option inside festivals than £5-a-pint warm carlsberg but as the filth tend to find happy benign festival crowds a better "target rich environment" than catching proper scumbags these days with sniffer dog cordons at the gates etc not so good. again, better prepped would go upwind a light several gallons of incense oil and ruin their littlescam essential apprehension of vile criminals.

Most festivals allow 'unlimited provided it is for personal consumption' on the campsite, but don't allow any to be taken into the 'arena' area. Fair do's. Only exceptions I know are Glastonbury and The (rather brilliant) End of the Road Festival, which allow you to take in as much as you want. Neither seem to struggle selling booze over the bar either, the bars at the latter are always healthily busy.
I'm out on Wilderness for this very reason. 187 quid a ticket is the going rate these days, but I don't want them telling me how much booze I can have on the camp site.

very simple to do... just don't forget which ones they are and try to neck a bottle of water in the morning to cure a hangover, just to realise its the spirits, then not spiting it out as its a waste and becoming drunk again very quickly.
