Frank Turner - Positive songs for negative people
Discussion
Definitely!!! Took my kids to their first gig to see him at the Northampton Roadmender - the ceiling sweated back at us! Then to Oxford, where the ceiling did the same -you can keep your stadium gigs, definitely a British music hero.
The new album is a show-er and a grower, but already a couple of songs have made me a bit emotional.

Definitely a fan since I heard one of his songs on the radio years ago, though I seem to love his faster, upbeat songs and am pretty 'meh' about the slower (dare I say plodding?) ones so the previous album I find myself skipping a few tracks even though I love some of the other songs like "Four simple words".
Seeing him for the fourth time next week in Norwich at the Waterfront which is a tiny venue for him, couldn't make any of the proper dates on this tour.

Used to love Million Dead.
Cant believe how big hes gotten. Remember seeing him in tiny craphole of a club ages ago, then turning on the TV one day a few years later and he was playing the Olympic ceremony!
His vocals in Million Dead had a slightly different vibe!

When ever his songs come on the radio I change channel, stupid lefty man.
He aint a "lefty" and even if he was what of it? Frank's Politics
I wouldn't fancy listening to much "Tory Rock". Cliff? And err...
Much as I'm a fan of FT and The Sleeping Souls, I'm not really feeling the love for this compared to his previous albums.
However, the acoustic versions of the same songs on CD2 with the deluxe album are great, I think.
Same songs just stripped back and played on the acoustic guitar.
A weird one for me - in general I love his live band, but the 'band' album just comes across as a bit bland to me.

Saw him solo for the first time a couple of nights back, in many ways I preferred it to the full band shows I've been to.Same songs just stripped back and played on the acoustic guitar.
