We saw them at Bristol too, I have been following them for 3 years or so, me and Mrs Blue were probably the oldest in audience in Bristol. My daughter likes them but she can't handle gigs due to dyspraxia.
Lol, I'm 53 and thought I was going to be the oldest one there but was suprised that there were quite a few others around my age so not to bothered this time round. Borrowed daughters cd this morning so that will be playing in the car over the coming week.M.

Had a quick trip to Leeds today to a signing session with James, promoting their new album, (girl at the end of the world, very good, go try it) and was treated to an impromptu bit of busking from Tim and Saul, before the signing. Great guys, happy to have a little chat and a few pics. Looking forward to May to seeing them live again.
Sorry to quote my own post, however, James, of whom I am a big fan, are currently well placed to score their first number one album in 18 years, for a band that has been around for 35 years, I think its great going. If anyone hasn't listened to it, streamed it or bought it, please take a look. It would be great to give the underdog something to cheer about by knocking the juggernaut of miserableness that is Adele off top spot, if even only for a week!

I'm always on the lookout for something new (and I'm 54 this year!) and having read this I really liked the sound of them, sadly I can't get to any of their gigs in London over the next few days, so I won't get to see them live, although I would have liked to from what I've heard!

If your in London check out boy jumps ship , 10th may camden barfly.M.

They tour a lot so keep an eye out for new dates. They were excellent in Cardiff
Excellent at the o2 kentish town on sunday even though the bassist had to have a stand in due to an inflamed elbow. Made my daughters day as the singer and drummer were sitting behind us watching the support acts. I also noticed quite a few more old farts in the audience this time round.hacksaw said:

Off to see Lloyd Cole in October, in London.
Always liked his Commotions stuff, but wasn't really aware of the later stuff, but I went to see him and the Leopards a couple of years ago which was highly enjoyable and introduced me to a lot of his later material I really enjoyed as well.
I think the October gig maybe an acoustic one, so that'll be different if it is, but I don't mind either way as I really enjoyed it last time.
Not everything I liked in the 80s stands up to scrutiny these days, but Lloyd Cole is definitely quality.

They played well, I also bought the CD. Press to MECO were great, even if the guitarist had bronchitis. Allusondrugs were properly good live... something for the future there.
Post Modern Jukebox were okay.
So coming up still is PVRIS, Steel Panther, Download Fest, Walter Trout... maybe Animals as Leaders, Milk Teeth, Buck & Evans...
Are you heading to Bristol this week for moose blood?Post Modern Jukebox were okay.

I was in your neck of the woods for ffaf and wondered if you were there.
It's pretty amazing that no matter how pissed they are a crowd in Cardiff can still stay in tune.

I didn't go to FFAF. It's odd a lot of mates got into them in quite a big way but I never really did... I have the Hours album and a couple of tracks from Casually Dressed... and I actually like listening to them but I could never really call myself a proper fan. As such when they announced the farewell gigs I decided those tickets deserved to go to true fans.
How was it anyway? Sounds like us Welsh were in fine singing voice!
I went to see PVRIS last night in Cardiff SU. They were good, not quite as good as when they supported BMTH though, I guess when you only have 1 album a headline gig is difficult. Alvarez Kings were first on, missed most of their set as I was down the road in my old student haunt Gassy Jacks waiting for the queue to die down! Then "K.Flay" came on... one of the worst live acts I've witnessed.

Still i don't think that's the reason there calling it a day.
Check out a band called zoax, bit of a glassjaw rip off but the frontman was entertaining.

It's quite interesting how many people are going to the farewell gigs , i've seen them the last few years at tiny places like Exeter cavern which holds 500 and they couldn't sell that out.

I booked Milk Teeth/Black Foxxes and InMe/Press to MECO today.
Been meaning to see InMe since like 2005 or something.
