I saw them at a local club that has since closed, and was disappointed at the sound quality (which was atrocious) and the length of the gig - I think they were all done including encore in a bit over an hour. I don't think the poor sound was down to the venue as I'd seen SLF and the Damned there without the same problem.
Well chaps. From the Stone Roses down the bill;Stone Roses. Did what they came to do. Pleased both the purists and folk like me who never really "got" them. Very polished, but autotune was heavily used.
Public Enemy. Excellent show, sound was a bit off at times and probably waffled a bit too much. But being the stage veterans they are, managed the crowd to a T.
The Coral. I don't like them. When I say I don't like them, I mean I would rather rub my balls on a cheese grater than see them again. I'm sure if you like them they were good though.
Buzzcocks. For me, it's between them and Public Enemy for the highlight of the gig. Found out they're at Manchester Albert Hall in October so will be going to see them again.
Saw "From The Jam" in Guildford last night and they were extremely good.
From the opening bars of "Town Called Malice" to the final ones of "Going Underground" they kept up a frenetic pace.
The small audience (mostly 50+, but a few students as it was at the Student Union at Guildford University) were having a great time, with nearly everyone (young and old) singing along.
Bruce Foxton is looking old, but still has plenty of energy, pulling of his trademark scissor kick a few times, whilst Russell Hastings has something "Weller-esque" about him, but avoids being a parody.
A very enjoyable evening.

after a very slow start to the year (1 gig- wolfmother) starting to get some stuff lined up for later in the year:

Alterbridge (Glasgow Hydro)
Ocean Colour Scene (glsgow hydro)
but was listening to radio 1 last night with biffy clyro on, they were doing an interview, and admitted they'll be doing a uk tour early December. said their manager wasn't happy when it slipped into conversation. so keep eyes out for biffy dates in December!

Heaton, apparently was taken to task for mentioning that Glastonbury's audience was younger than their usual one and in London explained he didn't mean us, because we all looked so young, it was "That lot in Sherwood Forest!"
I really enjoyed them at Somerset House both for their performance and the venue (as mentioned elsewhere).
Anyone seen Suzanne Vega in recent years? I've just booked to see her at Cadogan Hall in October (after posting before, I noticed she'd already sold out one night and tickets were, supposedly, in short supply for the second night).

Ha ha ha, I suppose when you've been knocking records out for over 30 years, the crowd grow old with you. te, all he really could have said was "Sorry..."Wouldn't associate this band with the PH crowd, but anyway, I managed to get tickets for The 1975 at the O2 in London in December. I've never actually been to an arena gig before so not sure what the vibe will be like, but my tickets are standing so hopefully I'll still feel an intimate atmosphere.
