Definitely one of the best bands live ,, New album is really good , don't think they have made a bad record in all the year's they have been going
Just brought tickets for Deaftones at Alexander Palace , watched them earlier this year, they just get better and better
This November in Bristol..Peaches, Black Mountain in the fiddler's and Honey blood
Very happy to have found a ticket to Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes sold out show on Thursday. It's going to be mental!
..and then on Friday I'm away for the weekend, going to the Shiiine On Weekender.
Echo and the Bunymen, The Wonderstuff, Shed 7, House of Love, and plenty more indie bands from yesteryear!

Spiritualized performing Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space from front to back were epic at the Barbican earlier in the week. After the gently floating title track opener the force at which they hit Come Together with the string section, gospel choir and screaming horn section was breath taking. I'm pretty sure despite being deep in the concrete bowels of the Barbican they could have been heard at the very top of the tower blocks.
For thhis year that just leaves a second trip to see Savages but this time rather than no expectations it will be with very high expectations. Are they the best band in the world right now, they just might be. And then to end the year its tales of bad break ups, drinking and hopelessness from Frightened Rabbit.
2016 has been a great year of gigs for me and looking forwad 2017 can't be half bad itself with Radiohead already confirmed.

Saw Christine &The Queens last week and they were excellent. Only booked it after hearing her interviewed by Annie Mac and she came across brilliantly. Show was great with the 4 male backing dancers really adding to it,
I didn't want to take my eyes off the stage as the 'show' was totally captivating & for a tiny little French bird she can sing too.
Booked to see St Paul & The Broken Bones in February at the Colton Hall which looks like it will be a really good gig, also Simple Minds doing an acoustic greatest hits at the same venue.

went to see nathanial rateliff and the nightsweats at the barrowlands on Saturday night and they were excellent. I bought the album off the back of a couple of decent singles getting radio play, then saw them on tfi Friday, but in the run up to the gig I was starting to wonder if I was that fussed about the gig. but very glad I didn't back out. great gig. they play very well together just playing good music.
Saw Smoove and Turrell in a packed out New Adelphi on Friday night, fantastic night and fantastic atmosphere. Only got a couple of gigs left for this year, a Prince tribute night and Blossoms.

I have a friend went to one of those Spiritualized shows, she reckoned it was great too, disappointed I had something else on so missed it.For thhis year that just leaves a second trip to see Savages but this time rather than no expectations it will be with very high expectations. I'm going to Frightened Rabbbit at the Roundhouse in Dec, and also Super Furry Animals and Ash there in the same week in December too, followed by rounding the year off with Status Quo at the O2. I think that's going to be a bit of a damp squib TBH, Parfitt is out due to his ticker being on its last legs, and last time I saw them together Francis Rossi was just going through the motions, didn't seem to want to be there. I'm rally more interested in the support act REO Speedwagon - an 80's soft rock box tick for me, always wanted to see them. The rest of the night will involve getting on the festive sauce with a fellow PH-er!
