The Stranglers without Hugh Cornwell? Is it worth it?
Yes, very much so. I've seen them with all line-ups, and as a live act they're at least as good now as they were towards the end of Hugh's involvement, probably even better. Honestly, if it's the kind of music you like it'd be worth a look. 80sMatchbox said:
Not too much planned. I tend to make fairly last minute decisions on seeing quite a few bands....
Feb : Greg Dulli at Union Chapel
Feb : Piano Wire
March : Nurse with Wound
June : Glastonbury
August : Reading Festival
October : The Cure, Stockholm
November : The Cure, London, Thursday night
November : The Cure, London, Friday night
The Cure are playing on the Saturday too, so who knows, nearer the time, I might be tempted....
I've just done a quick search and will have to sort a ticket for S*M*A*S*H. Love them!

Feb : Sum41, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes. I bought a ticket very last minute to see Frank Carter. There were great, even if I did miss half the gig! Sum41 were good, though I don't know them that well, and only recognised a few songs!!
Feb : SixxAM - just been a showcase with Nikki Sixx. I didn't ecpect many songs, but we thought that they'd play more than 3! A proper acoustic gig - no mics at all! It's not easy to hear an acoustic bass guitar with no mic...

Most of mine are support bands who have then gone on to headline and then the big ones that i follow on facebook.
In the next few months most the bands i'm seeing are around £7 a ticket , if i go and it's st what's £7 ( they never are st just mediocre at worse)
I'm paying £10 to watch 2 american pop punk bands with a 3rd brit band, how the hell does it pay the bills for the American bands beats me.
Can't seem to find any gigs for less than £15 at the minute, the local gig venues I go to (in Norwich) are run by the UEA and when they moved over to a new booking system all the prices went up, plus they no longer send out physical tickets so no momento to keep!In the next few months most the bands i'm seeing are around £7 a ticket , if i go and it's st what's £7 ( they never are st just mediocre at worse)

Anyway, upcoming (all in Norwich)-
Foxes - OH liked Gabrielle Aplin the other week, Amazon said Foxes are similar so off we go...
Cash - a Johnny Cash tribute act, seen before and pretty good if you like Johnny Cash
Postmodern Jukebox - check them out on Youtube is quicker than describing them!
Patent Pending - to go up tempo a bit
Hopefully off to the Slam Dunk punk festival too on the late May bank holiday.

The Charlatans thurssay night in southampton, then Ricky Warwick and the Fighting Hearts supporting Stiff Little Fingers in Portsmouth friday night, should be good.
Well, Charlatans were great, very hot and sweaty and great to see them in such a small venue.Friday night started fantastic, Ricky Warwick and the Fighting Hearts were fantastic and made a complete racket, I recommend checking them out.
However I went with my dad who is in his mid sixties, and by the time the Stiff Little Fingers came on I think he was struggling with the heat and the noise. So much so half way through the second song he almost fainted and I had to escort him outside! I suggested we call it a night and he agreed. Ah well, could have been a nightmare, but I told him to leave his jacket and jumper in the car and just wear his shirt, but he didn't listen, Dads eh?!
