Currently listening to a lot of the following :

Band of Skulls
Jack White
The Dead Weather
Frank Turner
The Clash/Joe Strummer
The Levellers

Need to have a good vocalist and be guitar driven. Prefer smaller bands with an original sound to stadium hounds.

Well why don't you take on The Fall? Whilst not a good vocalist in the way you mean, Mark Smith's vocals are good in their way; you have to be able to enjoy the rhythm of the words as well as the "tune".

Start with Fall Heads Roll. Most people can manage What About Us and Blindness from that album and go from there.

Can't go wrong with a bit of The Fall. This Nation's Saving Grace is quite accessible for starters.

If you have Spotify you could try "artist radio" and pick one of your favourite artists - it's not as good as the old Last.FM system but every now and then it throws up something interesting and you can follow the link from there.

Have you heard Damien Jurado? He's worth a listen if not. Veers between acoustic and alt rock.

River 68s. They're supporting The Darkness at the moment, and the guy can really sing.

Also, have you tried getting into The Wonderstuff and perhaps more usefully Miles Hunt's solo work?

Saw them supporting Jack White and then at their own gig in Oxford. Not to bad.

Dont want to negative, but whilst some of the above is of interest, it really doesnt grab me.

I really need to like the singers voice and the guitar riffs, and most of the above doesnt tick both boxes.

Sorry to be a pain......

Rival sons - good riffs but dont get the vocals

River 68s - mmm, ok but not great

Graveltones - again, abit meh tbh

Bernie torme - getting there but a little bit samey if Im honest

White Denim, brilliant band. The albums Corsicana Lemonade and D are both worth a listen.
