Yes, will be carnage over the next 10-20 years for classic rock lovers, all the pioneers of rock and pop will be likely passing on at some stage. Unlikely to have such a generation of great artists ever again who have had such an influence on genres and inspiration for young musicians.
Ozzy & Sabbath, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, rest of the Beatles,The Stones, rest of Queen, Elton John, ELO, Deep Purple, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC + a shedload of Americans too - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Dylan, Springsteen etc.
We'll be left with Bieber, David Guetta and Nickelback.
Perhaps I will book my ticket for the great gig in the sky!Ozzy & Sabbath, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, rest of the Beatles,The Stones, rest of Queen, Elton John, ELO, Deep Purple, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC + a shedload of Americans too - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Dylan, Springsteen etc.

Think the Eagles are one of those Bands you keep coming back to and they always seem fresh. I couldn't even begin to pick just one song
Agreed. My folks have a Don Henley DVD where he does an alternative version of 'Hotel California' using trumpets/sax instead of guitars for the long intro.

Earls Court 2000.
One of the best nights of my life.
There's a very good concert shaping up up there.

I remember that show. Primarily for the massive traffic jam beforehand and then for his remarks about George Bush ahead of singing 'Already Gone'. For years I've often wondered how much nicer the world would have been if he had been correct. One of the best nights of my life.

So true, I will never get bored of hearing Hotel California, the instrumental on that track is just incredible.
Likewise, and it must surely be one of the most played and covered songs on earth. I don't think I've been out a single night in Asia where it hasn't been played in a bar or been on the setlist of every Filipino cover band in the region.Yet never get tired of it. But that's true of most quality music.
For any Eagles fans I can recommend an excellent tribute band called Talon, seen them many times at The Stables in Milton Keynes and always been impressed with their high quality musical skills. What prompted this thread revival was I was at Mallory Park instructing on a Supercar Experience Day this week and at lunchtime one of the marshals had a wander over to chat about the cars we had at the circuit, during the discussion I asked him what was his "proper" job and he told me he was a musician and currently plays in an Eagles tribute band, turns out it's Keith Buck one of Talon's guitarists and he's also played in Wishbone Ash.
