Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane has died

Leading founder Kantner has died at 74 years old.

Missed their appearance here at 68 Isle of Wight - was hoping to see Grace Slick.
Hoped they'd return for the big 1970 event, but sadly no.

Internal tensions caused the group to reincarnate into Jefferson Starship in the 70s.

Some great records in their history, inc white rabbit and somebody to love.

Sad news.

Saw them at the Bath Festival of Blues & Progressive Music in 1970. They only played half of the set – it was raining at the time and they were concerned about getting electric shocks. Still, at least I got to see & hear them play live.

Surrealistic Pillow is still a great album – I’ll give it a spin tonight.

good obituary in Saturdays Times. A bit beyond my time to be a fan but had a curious interest in them. Interesting story if you get a moment to read it.
