Anyone else completely underwhelmed by that line up ?
not menot impressed by headliners (but that is my taste, not that they are unimpressive names) but going to Glastonbury for big headliners means you are massively missing the point IMHO
Plus I would guess Beck and Foals will be headlining the Other Stage - so that avoids clashes for me if Pyramid headliners were bands I was keen to see

From what I've heard Foals are sub-headliners on the pyramid. New Order (Sat), possibly LCD Soundsystem (Fri) and Bring Me The Horizon (Sun) are headlining the Other Stage. Based on the chaps who run efestivals.co.uk - he's 'in the know' with a lot of folk and normally gets things spot on. not impressed by headliners (but that is my taste, not that they are unimpressive names) but going to Glastonbury for big headliners means you are massively missing the point IMHO

Excellent reply, thanks for that makes sense. And yes tbh yes, I was basing it on the headline acts.
You are welcome. Part of the joy of Glasto is the sheer scale/breadth of choice and having a wander and discovering something new or unforeseen.A few years ago after a few too many Thatchers I strolled off to John Peel tent to watch Crystal Castles (slightly gothy emo band I vaguely new but liked a couple of singles), found myself thinking their stage show wasn't what I was expecting and the band had grown in number, before having a fantastic 45 minutes jumping about to Crystal Fighters!! Never heard of them before, and a bit hippy looking to be something I would naturally follow.

Haha, ive just done the opposite to you. I was thinking "Crystal Fighters arent gothy emo! whats he on about?" Easy to bands to muddle up then A few years ago after a few too many Thatchers I strolled off to John Peel tent to watch Crystal Castles (slightly gothy emo band I vaguely new but liked a couple of singles), found myself thinking their stage show wasn't what I was expecting and the band had grown in number, before having a fantastic 45 minutes jumping about to Crystal Fighters!! None of the headliners really float my boat, but to be honest I'm just grateful to a) have a ticket and b) be going with my mates leaving wife to deal with a 16 month old baby!
We go to,3-4 festivals a year but my wife can't be doing with the size of Glasto so lets me go with the boys, despite bhing about it most of the year, just to make me feel that I've earned it. I think she thinks I'll be partying all night - I'm 43 and exhausted, frankly looking forward to four nights of uninterrupted 8hrs kip, earplugs in, baby monitor off!
Definitely looking forward to ELO, Band of Horses, Mercury Rev, Saint Etienne, New Order, James, M83 and, ticking off a must-see from the 80's, ZZ Top! A fairly eclectic mix.
Hoping for some good weather and a decent place to camp - we normally go on the Wednesday and camp near The John Peel Stage but that is relocating this year, our usual spot being given over to hospitality camping (sigh) and not getting there until the Thursday due to getting coach tickets, expecting to have to find somewhere else to camp.

The pyramid headliners aren't really doing it for me either, but I'm very much looking forward to LCD Soundsystem, Ezra Furman, Wolf Alice (have seen them a couple of times and they're a cracking live band), Earth Wind and Fire, Grimes, going mental to One Step Beyond by Madness and Gregory Porter (his set last year was a major highlight).
Simply cannot wait to be back in that field!

What does everyone suggest for wednesday and thursday night?
This will be my 6th or 7th Glastonbury but wed and thurs is always spent the same. Sat by the ciderbus having a chat, getting smashed.
I have wandered up to The Park on the Wednesday the last few years, the two bar tents up there tend to have good DJs but aren't too rammed. Worth a look. I give the Beats Motel place a swerve, just seems to be full of postulating yoofs trying to get their photo taken on that podium thing so they can post it on Instagram. The real ale bar up at the Acoustic tent also worth a look. This will be my 6th or 7th Glastonbury but wed and thurs is always spent the same. Sat by the ciderbus having a chat, getting smashed.

What time does Jeremy Corbyn come on?
Serious question or pisstake? Sunday lunchtime. http://cdn.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/wp-content/u...Thing is it's on the Leftfield Stage, curated by Billy Bragg, which is in a marquee style tent and not the biggest at the best of times. Will undoubtedly be rammed full of Guardianistas.
I'm a long time fan of Billy's music, but don't necessarily agree with all of his politics - which I know is totally weird, given the nature of most of his lyrics.

I don't want to sound like a misery-guts on a Glastonbury thread, but looking at the line-up I'm glad I've booked Reading this year...
Really? Each to their own of course, but barring one or two acts I think the Reading/Leeds lineup is really weak this year. I remember going in 2008 with Metallica, Rage Against The Machine and Queens of the Stone Age all on the bill - now that was a good lineup! Likewise, I live in walking distance of Reading Festival, this is the first of 18 consecutive years I'm not going.
Normally buy a weekend ticket line-up unseen but it has got so piss poor in recent years, connected to a change of chief booker at Festival Republic at that time, my spies tell me.
Back on thread: Line-up for all stages comes out in a couple of weeks. You probably know this already, but Clashfinder is a brilliant tool, as always wait until last minute before printing off a finalised version.
