So everyone downloaded the app and currently scratching their heads on the inevitable band clashes?
I always start with a rough plan that usually goes to pot, want to be a bit more disciplined this year and at least see my top 5
anyway got any recommendations for Thursday?
New York Brass Band, Greenpeace stage at midday - they're brilliant. Big brass band from Yorkshire who do covers, really good laugh and a great way to kick things off. I always start with a rough plan that usually goes to pot, want to be a bit more disciplined this year and at least see my top 5

Don't worry if you miss them on the Thursday, they play on various stages every day of the festival. Can't recommend them enough, they've been one of my highlights the last couple of years.
Also worth checking out The Smyths in the Williams Green tent at 7pm on Thursday - as you might have guessed, they're a Smiths tribute band.

+1 to that, have seen them many times, including a couple at Glasto, they are great. Am a tad peeved that they're on at that stage/time, it always gets rammed with people all at a bit of a loose end wanting to see 'some' music, even if they aren't really arsed who it is. I much prefer when the Smyths open that tent on the Sunday morning. Yeah I know, Pistonheaders and their first world problems ....
My crew have arrived and pitched up, fortunately I sent my tent ahead, I go on a 4pm coach from Reading tomorrow.
Whilst I was a tad cheesed off at being a late-arriver a week ago, it seems it might be the better option now!
I don't mind the mud and the filth per se, but it just becomes frustrating (and tiring) as I like to get about the site to see a lot of stages, moving around just becomes so much slower when it's like The Somme!

Glad I'm not there! Last year, it rained on the Friday morning, but baking hot weather turned the mud as hard as concrete by late afternoon. My son was due to play but has cried off as his son is seriously ill. It's more of a jolly for the lesser acts anyway. The fee you get barely covers costs.
Mud not too bad, hopefully will dry out today but forecast to get worse Friday / Saturday
We hit standstill queues 2 miles out from Shepton, would have been many hours to get in I suspect, apparently caused by skimping on surface covering in car parks causing stuck vehicles.
Thank god for local knowledge and country lanes, circumvented it all and got to base camp in 20 minutes

Saw them playing in the street in Skipton when the Tour De France went through Yorkshire, they were very entertaining, assumed they actually came from New York though. Duhhhh.SickAsAParrot said:

Don't know when but "We’re performing at Shangri La, Greenpeace and Rum Shack stages across the weekend".
