To me it is all innately hilarious and very ACDC. They've never really given a st and just carried on taking in the stadium dollars. So to have Axl fking Rose in a rolling Dalek throne belting out the hits while the one remaining grandad gets to hammer his riffs before his back gives out is fking genius. God bless em

I don't get it either. Axl is far superior to Brian.

How long is Axl confined to his throne for?

Seems he broke the bone in his foot at the beginning of April

The last few posts above yours were saying that Axl was awful with which I disagreed. The fact that you didn't quote anything for your post suggested that your image of nails screeching on a blackboard was referring to Axl.

Was it not then?

It absolutely was. I think he sounds fking awful, but there again I've always thought that. Unlike a fine wine though, he seems to have got much worse with age, which, to be fair, is quite some achievement. My confusion was with you drawing a comparison with Leather Lungs Johnson. He's not exactly operatic either.

Have to say though, I'm looking forward to WAxl playing the diva with AC/DC. I'd give it 15 minutes before he'd be out on his (cloth) ear.

Ok. Bearing in mind Axl doesn't sound far off live what Brian sounded like when he could still sing, I take you don't like ACDC with Johnson singing or even that you don't like ACDC at all?

Was a big fan of AC/DC. Saw them in '77 (in Gt. Yarmouth of all places), and again when they returned to the centre of rock n roll the following year, at a holiday camp in the town. Also caught them at the legendary West Runton Pavilion the same year. In a fluke of synchronicity, I also saw Brian Johnson at The Windmill Theatre in Yarmouth, when he did a gig there with Geordie (RIP) in 1974, when he was nowt but a boy.

But he's no Bon Scott, is he?

And I still stand by my opinion that Rose sounds as if he's having his testicles removed via his chest cavity when he's supposed to be singing.

Well we were discussing a best replacement for Brian Johnson so in that context your fingernail pic was rather superfluous.

FWIW though I prefer the Bon Scott era too.

Look, if you insist on posting random pictures of stuff with no quotes or written references, don't be surprised if it taken in an implied context. Jesus!

Look, I'm really, really sorry if it went a little over your head. People were posting about Axl Rose, with links to videos of said screecher. I posted, in riposte, a pictorial depiction of the sound of nails on a blackboard, which, quite plainly, is how I perceive his voice.

It was meant as a little jokey comment. If I'd had any idea how much it would upset your delicate sensibilities, or your lack of sense of humour, I may have thought twice about the whole sorry episode. It is, after all, such a small thing to get all arsey about, don't you think?

Now then, shall we end it there? Or are you one of those people who has to have the last word in every debate? I suspect you are.
