Well we were discussing a best replacement for Brian Johnson so in that context your fingernail pic was rather superfluous.

FWIW though I prefer the Bon Scott era too.
Not really; he still sets my teeth on edge like no-one else.
Look, if you insist on posting random pictures of stuff with no quotes or written references, don't be surprised if it taken in an implied context. Jesus!
Look, I'm really, really sorry if it went a little over your head. People were posting about Axl Rose, with links to videos of said screecher. I posted, in riposte, a pictorial depiction of the sound of nails on a blackboard, which, quite plainly, is how I perceive his voice.

It was meant as a little jokey comment. If I'd had any idea how much it would upset your delicate sensibilities, or your lack of sense of humour, I may have thought twice about the whole sorry episode. It is, after all, such a small thing to get all arsey about, don't you think?

Now then, shall we end it there? Or are you one of those people who has to have the last word in every debate? I suspect you are.
Once again, you posted a photo describing a singer with no quote and no proposed context in the middle of a discussion comparing 2 singers and then you're the one who got "arsey" when you challenged with "Would you like to show me where I made a comparison?confused" when you could have just clarified the context of that photo instead.

So there. tongue out

No, Driller does. Have you heard him? Sounds like a cat being mangled,

Still going today - decided to keep an open mind, although the clips I've seen suggest it might not be too bad.

Cant help thinking they should have added a higher profile support though, and had at least three bands..

Got my tickets today, decided I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. Last two times I saw them was with Bon Scott, so couldn't really care less Johnson isn't singing. Not been to the Etihad before...any tips for getting a good viewpoint (we're standing)?

Well I have to say that Axl did a great job. Surprised me to be honest.

It was a great night. First half the volume wasn't that great and it was missing the classic acdc attack. Second half was better.

Agreed, I thought he did a brilliant job last night, didn't try and be BS or BJ - but his vocal approach matches the AC/DC catalogue very well.

Wasn't too impressed with the venue though - pain in the ass to get in/out.

Agreed. Getting in was ok. Getting out of the Westfield parking was a nightmare. Took 90 mins to get out to the road outside.

The other thing that pisses me off is the sound police. Saw them in Vancouver last year and it was really loud. Much louder than last years Wembley gig or this one.

I really enjoyed it but as you guys said it was a bit of a pain to get out. I got the tube to the stadium from Waterloo and that but was ok but the walk to the station was slow.

I thought the volume was ok but then again I was about 75m from the right hand stack and I think my ears are still ringing. Glad Axl could walk around and not be confined to a chair.

I thought it was good performance overall by AC/DC, and Axl did seem to suit - the one criticism I had was his vocal was a bit lost at the start of TNT. He seemed to work well with the rest of the band, and accept the part he had to play, and good to see the old standard's rolled out as well, as Rosie, the Bell, and the Cannon's all there..

Getting in/out was OK for us because of where we were in the stadium meant we got a bit of a head start - lesson learned after the Invictus closing concert. The catering at the stadium was pretty appalling when pushed - maybe just the in the section behind us, but about 25min's to get served between bands, six taps for pints with staff using four, running out of pint glasses, even closing for a spell..

I thought it was ace, sound quality was really good right down at the front!

The less said about the stadium facilities and entry/exit plan the better! Journey home was woeful.

Great show, loved it. Axl was awesome and fitted in seamlessly.

Can't believe some didn't want to go because it wasn't "authentic" AC/DC. They missed a treat.

Only problem was I think I'd have been closer sat at home! At the far end of a large stadium so hardly an "intimate" experience.

My pal who got the tickets said he did it pretty much as soon as they went on sale. How did those at the front manage to get those tickets then? Watching from behind it did seem to be fun down there with everyone packed in and bouncing up and down.

The lower tier of seats and the arena floor were all unallocated tickets. We got there about 5 when the stadium opened but stayed outside until 6 and wandered in. We could have stayed in the middle about 30ft from the circular stage but decided to grab a seat 11 rows back and level with the circular stage. The view was good and music was loud and we really enjoyed it.

From the videos I've seen it seems to be more "tuneful screaming" than actual singing.

How would you describe Brian Johnson then?!

Try an Adele gig if you want proper singing.

I thought Axl was very good.
