They are standing tickets.

Tkcketmaster have said that as the gig hasn't been cancelled, they won't honour a refund.

I feel quite aggrieved as a) I wouldn't have bought them with Axl as frontman, and b) it feels like ac/dc have thought "fk the fans, let's make whatever we can, with whoever we can convince to front the remainder of our band".

Feel for you. Like a tribute band, watched Big Country with Mike Peters who was great but still felt cold after Stuart Adamson.

Thanks.

I'm not going to bother going I don't think.

I saw axl rose in London in 06 and he was a massive tit, so much so that i left when he began singing "we are sailing"......

I feel like AC/DC have taken the piss a little with the while thing and should've called it a day rather than this nonsense.

If anyone wants to make me a reasonable offer for our two tickets,I'm all ears.

I'm in the same position as some of you guys.

Got tickets for the London gig, but would much rather have my money back than see Axle ttface ruin my favourite band!
If I can't get a refund or sell the tickets I simply won't be going. grumpy

What a sad ignoble end for the band. Been listening to them since forever and the ballbreaker tour @ 16 years old was my first proper gig.

Briefly considered catching them this time around but decided well north of £200 once you buy a few drinks for two of us was just a bit steep to see them go through the motions; condolences to all those who did buy tickets.

Going on whats been said on here and other places it sounds like everyone with a ticket won't be bothering to show up - how ironic would that be if axl got his prima donna asshole there at the right time just to see an empty venue?

I guess this is to pre empt any whining about being cheated that ACDC copped out with a lineup that wasn't tr00 enough, that they felt they had to get a "superstar" in? Couldn't miley cyrus fit it into her diary then?
Spare a thought for a Faces fan like myself they had Mick fkin Hucknall as front man for a while, I would've rather had Miley Cyrus than MH!!
Mick Hucknall is a superb singer, but he wasn't right for The Faces.

Yes, a farcical ending really, to what is the best rock band in history. No doubt driven by commercial realities.

To me, this is now no more than a cover band. I would see GnR with Axl, but not AC/DC.

He just doesn't fit, there are half a dozen Aussi larrikin singers that could have done this, maybe they are not famous enough or have enough presence, but they'd do a better job than a fat ginger on a chair.

I saw a singer called Mark Gable do some AC/DC tributes with his band in a pub venue in Melbourne (The Choirboys, with ex AC/DC bassist), they played a couple of albums end-to-end. Superb, even sounded similar to Bon Scott.

I've got 3 tickets for the London gig - quite a trek from Aberdeen. Tried to cancel at the weekend like quite a few others and as has been said Ticketmaster won't let you. Even though i didn't buy tickets to see Axle Rose as guest singer.
It's like buying a car with 18" alloys and when you collect it there's 4 15" space savers bolted on and there's nothing you can do about it!

I've got tickets for Manchester, and to be honest, I think it will still be a great gig, Although Axl is no Brian Johnson or Bon Scott, Brian's voice has sounded quite poor in recent years.

There will always be a disappointment from some quarters when a vocalist changes (Gillan -> Coverdale, Ozzy -> Dio, Dio -> Bonnett), and whoever was picked would have come under fire. There were loads of 'outraged' fans in 1980 when AC/DC dared pick a relatively unknown singer. But as far as I'm concerned it is possibly the last chance to see one of the great rock bands.

And so has Axl's, and if anything it's worse than Brian Johnson's - didn't he have to bring in Seb Bach to do some parts on Chinese Democracy?

I watched the clip posted above from Coachella, and Whole Lotta Rosie was a track GNR covered a lot in the early days and was released on a Live EP - there is a big difference in the standard of vocals, even allowing for the sound quality of that clip..

If I could get a refund of the tickets I have for the London gig, I'd be seriously tempted - I think PiL are playing that night, and I'd rather go and see old Johnny than Axl..

I've just had a quick look on the Which? website regarding refund on concert tickets.

Under the heading 'When you're not entitled to a refund' it states;

"But you're not entitled to a refund if an understudy appears in place of a show's headline star or a headlining artist changes from the ones advertised on a music festival line-up".

Definitely this ^^^

Feel a bit mugged off by the band TBH. Obviously they are fulfilling contractual obligations, and that is understandable. At least let people who don't want to go have the option to cancel though.

Axl Rose FFS. Complete tool.

Hearing Axl Rose will be fronting the AC/DC Manchester gig isn't quite up there as the worst rock news this year (that still belongs to Bowie!), but it's pretty fking dismal nevertheless.

I mean - Axl Rose? WTF were they thinking? Even Myles Kennedy sings the GnR songs better than he can.

I'd prefer a real left-field choice, personally... the fantastic Lzzy Hale from Halestorm.

Halestorm cover of Shoot To Thrill
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOai94e3MhE

Halestorm acoustic version (bur poor sound quality) of You Shook Me All Night Long
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUZJBEZ8IVQ

Saw her perform with Halestorm earlier this year in Manchester with Shinedown and Black Stone Cherry, and they were the best band on the night - and her vocals were amazing. Not only that, but she's a lot easier on the eye than old Axl, too...
