Bit bored and this just popped in to my head. Songs sung by a band member other than the regular lead singer. My favourites:

Old Brown Shoes - Beatles - George Harrison

Coffee and TV - Blur - Graham Coxon

I was going straight for Coffee and TV.

She's very prominent on many many Pixies records, but I love Kim's lead on Gigantic.

And "Tempted" by Squeeze - sung by Paul Carrack. Glen Tilbrook wanted to do it, but agreed that Carrack sung the demo so well that he should do the release.

To which add "I'm in Love With My Car" biggrin

My favourite Queen second vocalist song has always been "39" sung by Brian May.

Ah yes I'm in love with my car , should've said that on here hehe

Got a lot of time for Brian May but his voice just grates as a lead to me. Starfleet is obviously awesome though

Pleiades. King's X. Good effort by the girly-voiced guitarist.

This thread reminds me of a Bill Hicks quote - "The Beatles were so f**king high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.”

It hasn't stopped other bands letting the drummer sing, as I've always liked the Foo Fighters "Cold Day in the Sun" with Taylor Hawkins on vocals.
