Just seems all a bit odd to me - he died about 20 years ago, so why has everyone waited until now to kick up a fuss?

When you consider the fact that it's "just" a popularish chord sequence and only part of the overall number anyway....

Admittedly, Led Zep pinched and melded lots of things, but my point is why raise your objections so long after the event.

From some of the reporting the court case sounds an absolute hoot, too....

Funniest claim so far?

More likely to be based on Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins!

Couldn't resist looking it up and listening (it's on Apple Music - I don't currently have the soundtrack in my record collection - although I did when I was four!) ..... Yes! I can hear that!!!

I've returned, again, to the '68 album Spirit and I have to say you could easily find a tenuous link between many of the melodies and chord sequences and other stuff that you might identify as hits from a wide range of artists.

It's not a "great" album, but it's very typical of its time and quite "nice" if that isn't too damning. I'd be cheesed off if I had paid a lot of money for it and only listened to it twice - but that's the way with a lot of '60s and '70s albums. It has some nice jazz funk through it, with a variety of pleasing chord sequences and simple riffs - and nowhere near as hard rock as I was expecting having listened to some of Randy California's stuff, or the Night of The Guitars era. Quite good for some chilling out. If you're so inclined you should look it up on Apple Music or similar....
