Can I ask please. I've followed all the leagal beagle advice on sending a VT to Mercedes for a PCP at 50%. I did this last week, chased yesterday and told they take around a week to send out a 'pack' that I need to sign else they said I can't terminate.

I just wanted to ask others experience with Mercedes doing this. My car is under mileage and in good condition.

I understand I should not have to sign anything as I sent the request to terminate to them, so I wondered if anyone else had refused to sign what they send and what happened from doing so.

I need the car gone the end of next week so don't want to hold things upany longer as they are dragging their heals even sending this out, but also don't want to set myself up for a fall by signing any rights away when the form does arrive.

Thanks

I've terminated a few PCP deals previously and none have required me to send anything signed back. My last one was all verbal with the financier, confirmed over the phone, they advised BCA would be in touch to collect the car within 5days (took 1) and the car was collected within a further 5days ... All I signed was the handover sheet with the collection guy from BCA.

I VT'd a C350 CDI about 3 years ago with MBFS.

Went smoothly but they treat a hand back / VT as they do a lease car so be prepared for a bill if there is damage to the car.

As long as you are 50% through payments there won't be an issue.

Note that MB FS will put a marker on your credit file (through Equifax) which is a note to say that you have VT'd a car. It does not impact your credit score but lenders can see it.

But to add that I acquired another Mercedes (C63) on lease with the finance via MBFS and didn't experience any issues.

Take plenty of pics on the day of the hand over, preferably while the guys are there. Examine their paperwork very carefully and mark and sign anything you don't agree. I say this as a while back MB tried to extract a serious amount of cash on the return of a leased ML. Stuff like o/s front tyres below legal limit, they were less than a month old! In they end, after much huffing and puffing they backed down and claimed (rather weekly imo) that it was nothing to do with them as they contracted out that particular "service" Good luck.
