I had a track pump I bought of Ebay. It was ste, you had to let all air out of the tube to pump it up, you couldn't top one up. It eventually broke. I went to Halfords at the weekend and the Joe Blow had a fiver off, plus if you spent over 50 notes there was an extra tenner off.
I bought one. Oh my god, how have I lived without this for so long. It is excellent. Valve clips straight on, takes seconds to pump a tyre up from flat to 110psi, the gauge works well. Brilliant.
Anyone suffering with st pumps do yourself a favor and go and get one of these.

If you are after a cheap one I bought a Wiggle Lineline pump for 15 squid: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-essential-track-p...
Is bloody great, no nonsense, no swapping over ends, just put it on the valve and job jobbed, amazing value for price

A friend and I bought a Joe BLow and a Blackburn at the same time (10 ish years ago). Hew binned his JB as it lost its bolts, the hose was continually perishing so it got shorter and shorter lol, the gauge went and in the end it stopped producing pressure, meanwhile my Blackburn is spot on
I have one of these, only complaint so far is that despite being bright yellow and highly visible I managed to close the rear door of my Wife's car whilst the pump was wedged in against the rest of the holiday luggage. Rather than investigate the source of the obstruction I just decided to use more pressure which resulted in the pump floor plate puncturing a hole in the door arm rest.
COCK.
COCK.
I've been toying with the idea after buying what I thought was going to be a solid and reliable SKS metal one.
It was awful. There was no internal stopper, so if you didn't stop in time every time you pulled up on the handle the top would come off.
Replaced it with an unknown make from John Lewis, which worked well for a good number of years, but the presta side of it doesn't work.
Got a £5 one in Lidl a couple of years ago. It all still works, but the hose seems like it's made from inflexible plastic rather than rubber, so is awkward to use.
Did regret not just spending the money on a JB one in the first place, but now reading the posts above, I'm wondering whether that's a good idea or not.
As a kid (in the 70s), I used to use a footpump that my dad had. Turns out it was a lorry pump, but it was excellent.
