This is a list of those musicians who believe - notwithstanding conspicuously lacking any talent besides music - that they are so much more than musicians. They are, in a word, s.

1. Bob Geldof. Of course, been top of this list for decades. Done nothing worthwhile since 1979 yet somehow is still around with his grating self-righteous whine.

2. Bono. Narrowly beaten into second place. Sometimes hard to tell him apart from Geldof, except that he is considerably more successful.

3. Roger Waters. Surprise new entry. Sublime singer, fantastic musician, brilliant lyricist. But when he stops singing he becomes another rude, self-righteous .

What other musicians deserve to be on the list of s?

A mate of mine is a knob twiddler at an auditorium. He's met a few, the one he reckons is well up there on not getting many Christmas cards is Sharleen Spiteri (ex of Texas, now solo).

I'm inclined to agree with your view of RW. Just listen to him talking about DG abd NM. I suspect the ego goes with the frontman type, and after a bit of success it's very easy to start thinking that you really are special.

I always though Lars Ulrich was a bit of a knob.I then watched "Some Kind of Monster" and while I don't think anyone came out of that smelling of roses, he was head and shoulders above the other three for being a massive cock.

Must be something about drummers, as Ginger Baker, formerly of Cream, is a complete bd. An absolute genius behind the kit though though. cool

i have to begrudgingly admire geldof for the fact that one single event has allowed him effectively take the rest of his life 'off' and make everyone forget his actual musical output was pish. i wish i could make that stick.

my nomination is morrissey. just the worst kind of person. shame as i love the smiths and much of his early solo stuff. but really. what. a. .

Al Di Meola

A giant talent of the guitar, and possesses immense technique, speed and accuracy.

However, he needs to shut the fvck up and let his guitar skills do the talking because whenever he is interviewed, he comes across as nothing more than a colossal anus.

There's nothing worse than listening to a singer ranting and raving about rubbish when they are supposed to be singing.

Michael Stipe is one of the worst I've seen.

However, going on about American politics and st that most people couldn't care less about they all cheer as if they do. He must think that people are actually interested and listening.

Yeah I thought this too. I don't know how James Hetfield has managed to put up with him for 33 years (although I suppose massive quantities of vodka helped).

Is anyone as self-righteous or as far up their own arse as Kanye West?

Glenn Danzig.

Apart from anything else, he gave the impression of being really hard (like many short blokes) then IIRC lost a fight with the one-armed drummer from Def Leppard.

Have you ever seen the footage of the self proclaimed greatest living rock star vs one of the greatest voices of all time?
It really puts it into perspective how appalling Mr West is!

Yep seen that, very funny.

The guy is so far up his own arse and yet fans still lap it all up, just read a news article about a show that he did yesterday (I think), he was an hour and 40 minutes late, stopped halfway through a "song" and went on a tirade about Hilary Clinton, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, sung another "song" and decided he'd had enough and finished the show; 10 minutes he was on for apparently.

Why do fans put up with that sort of behaviour.

I love the joke about Kim Kardashian and her massive arse; that's enough about Kanye!
