Nothing like knowing your target market!
I did chuckle when I opened the vinyl up today, probably not quite the target audience for some these goodies being a middle aged/middle class professional with children Nothing like knowing your target market!

Not bad for starters, one upside to getting divorced; no moaning about 'school night' gigs, or complaints that they 'are your thing'

An impressive haul, mine used to look like that, reverse to you though - 4yrs married with a 2yo toddler so I have to pick and choose. We are goingto The Xx this week too, but also Weller in Reading and the Hacienda Classics at Kew Gardens, I think we have similar tastes.Jan - The White Buffalo, Shepherds Bush Empire - Excellent country, blues, rock

We normally do Latitude too and I was hanging all my hoped on it as despite having got a heavily in demand Glastonbury ticket, I might have to welsch on that come balance payment day due to clashing family holiday plans. I was hoping Latittude might be a reasonable subsitute but the headliner announcements last week really don't float my boat.

are the Glastos transferable? never managed to get one yet. Haven't done Latitude before and some friends went last year, so there are about 8 of us going for the craic and then the headliners are of less importance. We normally do Latitude too and I was hanging all my hoped on it as despite having got a heavily in demand Glastonbury ticket, I might have to welsch on that come balance payment day due to clashing family holiday plans. Love Supreme is a pretty good festival for families if the music ticks your boxes; generally and more mature crowd and loads of young kids, rather than feral teenagers!
you are pretty close to me in location and music taste! what night are you seeing The XX? I go to quite a lot at Colston Hall in Bristol as its easier for me than London and have membership so get advance notice on tickets; same goes for 02 phone contract, helps beat the rush.
just throwing this out here
I've 4 really good tickets for the Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum, Corrine Bailey Rae gig at Bleinheim Palace on 17th June.
http://www.nocturnelive.com/tickets/gregory-porter...
booked them in a hurry and didn't check the diary; it clashes with Stone Roses at Wembley. Having never seen the Roses and having seen all of the Blenheim line up they are up for grabs. I can get rid easily enough on one of the resale sites but thought there might be someone on here that might fancy a go. PM if of interest.
also have 6 spares for the Stone Roses after 2 of us got through and booked without checking where the other one was in the queue! massive facepalm to self for that day; only 10 spare tickets for 2 gigs!

Went to The XX last night, it was brilliant (very impressive light and stage show, I'm not normally bothered by all that shizzle) but in 20yrs of going to Brixton Academy I've never seen it so rammed, absolutely heaving downstairs. They also didn't come on until 21:40 despite an advertised 21:15 headliner start - pissed me off a tad because although they hit the 11pm curfew on the nail it was then too late to get a fast train home - took us an extra 40 miins, by which time the babyditter had clocked up another tenner on the meter! #middleclassrage. Two (relatively unknown) DJ support acts didn't help matters - I've had a whinge up the thread about the need for two support acts at London gigs, it all seems a bit indulgent, I'd much rather bands were doen by 22:45 so I could get home easily. Yeah, I know, rock and roll.
If you are going to Brixton on Saturday I expect it to be carnage with people doing all day on the sauce!
Latitude is great, wonderful setting and vibe, nicely spaced out camping, stages close enough to navigate between quickly, but not so close they interfere with each other, weather usually good, comedy is great, lots of other stuff to do, I definitely recommend.

Sadly not, if I jib out of paying the Glasto balance in April then I get a bit of deposit refunded but the ticket goes back into the pot for general resale.

Went last night and it was packed but not with all-day drinkers. Got in early and sat upstairs, made the mistake of sitting in third row behind the 2 reserved for 'VIPs'. What a bunch of ignorant s, turned up late, stood talking and didn't shut up for most of the gig. Had to get security to tell them to shut up and it all kicked off! Not ideal but I'd rather do that than let them carry on.Went to The XX last night, it was brilliant (very impressive light and stage show, I'm not normally bothered by all that shizzle) but in 20yrs of going to Brixton Academy I've never seen it so rammed, absolutely heaving downstairs. The start was late again and they went past curfew by about 10 minutes. I liked the warm up DJ but would have preferred a smoother running time. Also had Robyn as support, who was OK.Thought The XX were very good, for a light show make sure you see the Chemical Brothers next time they are doing an indoor gig as their light show is now off the charts. Visuals last night were very good.
