Two concerts back to back for me, Anthrax last night and Holst The Planets performed by the CBSO on Wednesday. Both cracking concerts with some great energy.
Took my son to see Anthrax, he'd been poo pooing them as an old man band but last night changed his mind. The crowd might have been old but we still had it!
I'm back at the CBSO next Wednesday for some Rachmaninov then Band of Horses the Monday after. Rounding out the month with Richard Herring, great month's entertainment.

Me too, was bloody awesome.
Shame they over ran a bit and didn't play I'm the man at the end
It was bloody brilliant, wasn't it? There was a great atmosphere in there too.Shame they over ran a bit and didn't play I'm the man at the end
The support band was pretty good too, would definitely see them again
Saw Mike + The Mechanics and York Barbican last night. Fantastic gig - they looked like they were having an awful lot of fun! Mike Rutherford is so cool - he just stands there playing his guitar and looking content - like a master craftsman that's made some beautiful toys (his songs) and given them to a bunch of kids (the rest of the band) to play with and is just watching over them all happily. Andrew Roachford's singing is amazing too - in fact, the whole lot of them were brilliant. They played some tracks from the forthcoming album and they were great. Often these older bands that release new stuff seem to be trading on their reputation and lack the creative strength of their heyday, but the new M+TM stuff was as strong as anything they've done. An evening very well spent.
Few changes for me, new shifts at work for the wife means a couple of gigs we had arranged we now cant attend, but have added shed 7 gigs at the end of the year.

Just booked to see the Illegal Eagles locally in July.
First tribute band I'll have been to see (although some of the older bands I've seen have featured few members of the original lineup), so it'll be interesting to see what I think.
