I recently went to see a really great DJ set with one of the guys from Kraftwerk which was (as I'd describe it) industrial German early electronic. This 80's style genre passed me by in the day and would like to listen to more, but have no idea where to turn. Any suggestions?
Cheers

Not sure if entirely '80s (some '70s), but possible options might be...

Tangerine Dream
Early Gary Numan
Einstürzende Neubauten (more 'industrial' than electronic)
Jean Michel Jarre
Vangelis
Space (Magic Fly)
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD)
Walter/Wendy Carlos

I guess it was Wolfgang Flur? Saw him earlier in the year and the stuff he plays is a bit of Kraftwerk and his own solo material.

Some excellent suggestions in the posts above, I'd also add the following:

Deutsche Elektronische Musik (especially Vol.1)
Early Human League
Karl Bartos solo albums
Stuart Maconie "Freak and Freakier Zone" shows on Radio 6

The "Close to the Noise Floor" compilation will steer you pretty well to UK Electronica, some excellent music hidden away out there.

Throbbing Gristle are quite interesting, if a little 'arty'.
