Mark Stanway, keyboard player with the band Magnum has announced his intention to quit the band after more than thirty years.

His decision was announced today on Facebook.

Due to irrevocable circumstances, I am deeply saddened to announce that I have made one of the most difficult decisions in my life...... I have officially left Magnum...

I apologise to anyone who was maybe hoping to see me personally over the next few days, but sadly I will NOT be there. However, I should like it known, that, I am and will remain extremely proud to have been a small part of it all for the past 36 years or so and wish the band and organization all the best for the future. I will of course firmly remain in music and hope to see many of you a little further down the road, sincerely Mark Stanway.

Got a couple of Magnum albums, saw them a few times back in the 80's when they had a bit of commercial success. They were touring with FM at the time and both bands were a joy to listen to. I bought Breath of Life, Into the Valley and and Princess Alice but can't say I have listened more than once to them. Good albums but the goto one is On a Storytellers for me.

Anyway back on topic, very intriguing!
