Caught a bit of Top Gear on Dave while making dinner tonight, James Blunt was the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car.

Obviously it's only a snippet, but I couldn't decide whether he was a decent sort of fellow or a bit of a, well, you know.

So knowing full well that PistonHeads never lets not actually knowing or even having met a person cloud a detailed character appraisal, I thought I'd ask the question. biggrin

What do we think of James Blunt?

Send to be a thoroughly decent chap.

Can't stand his music though.

His Twitter is good fun. Takes all sorts of flak but gives it back and then some.

I met him once. He's very short, but his girlfriend of the time was very, very tall.

His twitter feed can be very self deprecating and amusing at times

Seems a top bloke, I think even he hates the type of music he sings but he knows where his talent lies and what makes the £££. Definitely a legend on twitter though.

Last I saw/heard of him were these Christmas adverts where he was taking the piss out of himself for his warbly 'You're Beautiful' ditty - you'd need to have a sense of humour and self-awareness for that, so as a person he's OK in my book (not a huge fan of his singing tho').

I'm not joking - it was like Bernie Ecclestone and whoever he's married to at the moment. biggrin

Not seen much of him in the last 10 years so I can't say I'm too bothered either way.

Never met him but he has a solid background (reconnaissance officer for the Army) has made himself a good career in music (and it isn't really that bad) is able to laugh at himself in an impressive way and has the best comebacks. I don't think I have ever seen anything bad written about him (except re: his music), so have to go with him seeming like a decent guy to me.

This.

Was ordered to take an airport in Bosnia by his commanders. Realised that the situation would have become an international disaster in going this, found a way of not doing it, which was a good thing as it was already occupied by the Russians.

Something like that anyway.

Seems like a great laugh, kind of bloke you'd enjoy having a few pints with. You don't have to buy his music to like him.

What the fk is this doing in TV, Film & Radio now? rofl

That's like posting a question about the Ford Mustang you drove on holiday, and having it moved into the Holiday forum! laugh

Oh well, I'm glad we got a consensus that JB is an all round nice guy before the mods sent the thread to die...
