The Sea Cadet Hall in Cambridge, Rowan Robertson(Dio) played his first gig there, when we use to go in the late 70s/early 80s there was lots of NWOBHM bands like these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NO3q__Coso.
Halcyon days
Any favourite venues that have long gone?

The Astoria on Charing Cross road in London. Really sad loss.
I remember going to The Marquee on Charing Cross road a few times in the early 90's including seeing a band who's name I dont remember but one of them wore a full face motorbike helmet and a loin cloth. Very odd.Dr Murdoch said:
Don't doubt the venue but can we say 'who' played there? It would give some context.
Good point. Duchess of York;No-Means-No
Alice-Donut
Bongwater
Tad
You Slosh
and of course
JOHN "It'll be a hit by xmas" OTWAY.
There was also a little known band called Nirvana that also played there one night.
Fulham Greyhound (now a comedy club I think). Young Gods around 1989.
100 Club in Oxford Street - numerous bands and times
London Astoria at TCR - numerous though Front 242 and Renegade Soundwave spring to mind, in 1990s.
Marquee in CCR - most notably R.E.M. playing a warm up gig under a pseudonym Bingo Hand Job - scratch that, I googled it and it was the Borderline which is close by and still going
