Army & Navy in Essex. Blur & Oasis amongst others before they made it big.

I've played there! At least once!
And seen many others there, too;
Napalm Death
Queen Adreena
Celeste (!)

That I can recall.

Despite it being walking distance, I never went there over the many years it was open. I think it might just have been because I'm not that much into tribute bands, though they did have some name acts there as well. The new venue that the chap moved to suffered from being too far out of town, and is now flattened too. I've half an idea I'd heard someone was thinking of re-opening the Limelight, but I'm not sure.
Yeh I know what you mean, I did see a few name bands there but did enjoy a Friday night there as well just to catch a good tribute.

Yeh the Jolly Jar which I think they are building houses on now, it was going to re-open but I think it suffered some fire damage and is probably not worth re-opening now.

Queens Hall Leeds. Old Tram Shed and you can imagine the acoustics. Concrete Floor and Facilities that were legendary in their awfulness. Used to be mainly Heavy Metal Bands seem to be remembered but such as The Police played there as well.
