It does say “Bands” in the title, so go on that I reckon
It also says pick 10, which some seem to be ignoring rolleyes

its the picking of only 10 that makes it hard, and more fun

Christ it seems like we are all 40-70 years old !!

Foals
Oceansize
Mansun
Radiohead
The Bluetones
Coldplay
Soundgarden
Muse
The Boxer Rebellion
Death Cab For Cutie

Solo artists are still a band. And some will be in the top 50 .... Ozzy and Dio immediately spring to mind.

Where's the amalgamated list gone?

Surely we should have a week or two of collecting band names and then create a new thread with a multiple poll option?

Marillion I see,
Pixies too.

Nirvana appear to be missing.

Should we limit nominations to bands that have appeared on Top of the Pops?

Difficult! My taste spans many genres, but if I truly think hardest about 10 bands only I could listen to for the rest of my life I think this is about it. 2000s-era alternative rocker at heart it appears!

That's a good list - close to mine - but you forgot Faith No More wink

It's by no means a bad list at all, oddly the only band on it I've never gotten into is the Foo Fighters, not saying they're in any way bad or not all extremely talented just never really appealed to me.

Another ten:

The Stranglers - Although I know nothing of them after Cornwell left.

PJ Harvey - Has nobody else mentioned her? Wow!

The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Just so many good tunes.

Wire - Again so many good tunes

Dr Feelgood - A bit young to appreciate them at the time but my wife who saw them loads of times with Lee Brilleaux confirms how ace they were.

The Transglobal Underground - Soundtrack of mid 90s London after party chilling out.

The Patti Smith Group/Patti Smith - Again no previous mentions

Iggy and the Stooges/Iggy Pop - Remember hearing Raw Power round a mate's house around 1982 for the first time and it just blew me away.

Killing Joke - Such a great, dark band.

UK Subs - Up there with the Damned as one of the best Punk bands and they just don't stop playing. Seen them countless times and they're always deafening. Charlie's 75!
