^^solo at around the 1 min 30 mark... incredible player
Just popped on here to mention Tal.

An extraordinary talent
I think I prefer this version from the show at Ronnie Scott’s.

https://youtu.be/lw8fBR_XiPs

The drummer, by the way is Vinnie Colaiuta. He was with Frank Zappa for a tour or two, and Zappa had some excellent drummers over the years. He said that of all the drummers he had, his favourites were Vinnie and Aynsley Dunbar.

I think Tal certainly demonstrates what the upper horn on a Fender bass is there for.

That's a stunning version, my God.

I swear, you could give Beck a sheet of 8 x 4 with one string attached and he'd still sound awesome.

there's something about Beck isn't there? nobody else can get near his sound...instantly recognisable from the minute he starts playing.... and to still be playing with such grace and fluidity at his advancing years is insane

Simone Butler has replaced Mani in Primal Scream. She's a little more easy on the eye, and a great bass player.

Jenny Lee Lindberg - Warpaint

But Tal is still my favourite!

Amanda Smith-Skinner played an amazing Steinberger fretless in "Rockbh".

I had quite a body massage when listening to Miranda Vandervoort in "Toner Low",

sounded like she had 8mm metal rods strapped in that instrument.

Ah, having now read the thread I see there's a link to this already, but it's worth listening to twice.

And of course there's the queen of Goth herself, Patricia Morisson of the Sisters of Mercy.

There's also Marta Altesa, in this vid pulling off a fiendishly complicated Pino Palladino cover:

She wiggles really well, I thoroughly recommend the band. Problem is I have no idea how to describe them.
The drummer is said to have a second job calibrating metronomes.
Mark is just mesmerising on guitar.

Look up Dea Matrona on FB or YouTube. Not only do they swap between lead/rhythm guitar, they sound and look lovely, being Irish.

Nikki Monninger of the Silversun Pickups, a band that revels in a strong bass line and the odd bass solo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG8fugqFn9Q
