This thread has also reminded me of Gail Greenwood - L7, Belly, Bif Naked, and then Belly again. I guess you have to be a certain age.

A great bassist who gelled musically with Belly (gave them what their first album lacked), but never quite matched the aesthetic, viz.:

Melissa Auf De Mar from Hole
and Smashing Pumpkins, for a while.

Her solo albums are both incredible. Sadly, doesn't seem to be putting any more music out these days. Running some kind of arts venue instead.

Ok she also plays guitar smile
Spot the connection to Gail Greenwood, mentioned above.

It's like "six degrees of female bassists" in here...

Simone Butler has replaced Mani in Primal Scream. She's a little more easy on the eye, and a great bass player.

I know she's already been posted in this thread, but A Perfect Circle era Paz Lenchantin is one of my faves:

A huge loss for APC fans that she's no longer in the band - she had some utterly filthy basslines

Oh and how have we got to 4 pages without Sean Yseult?

Pretty sure she only ever played bass on one Perfect Circle song recording. She played live, but Billy wrote and recorded all the bass lines apart from one song IIRC.

And according to Andrew Eldritch was recruited mainly for her looks as he played all the bass parts on the recordings she supposedly played on.
Sour grapes? With Eldritch, could be but could also contain an element of truth to it

I've not seen Eva Gardner mentioned, she's done a lot of work with some of the major US acts live such as Moby, Gwen Stefani and most notably Pink.

This is her playing with Moby in the Live at the Fonda concert, some great musicians on that. https://youtu.be/1b9-pjEgEZc
