The comments on that one are good, pointing out that the guy with the electric guitar isn't even plugged in half the time.
What bothers me about that is that it’s all tracked up but made to look like it’s only one person playing. Completely un-performable. I would love to see the logic session for it.
I quite like polyphia, I totally get why folk don't like it at all, mind. I'm actually going to see them live in a couple months and looking forward to it.

For me I see them as a metalhead/rock fans DJ/R&B. It's familiar noises but in a different environment/vibe if that makes sense. I've no idea what I'll make of them live, apparently their shows are good but I'm not going to be surprised if I end up a bit bored.

I also thought Steve Vai's contribution on their last single to be very 'meh', but I'm not a massive vai fan so may just be that.

He also references Plan B, which is fair enough. And a bit an Andrew and the Johnson falsetto at the beginning.

I like it - interesting and different.

Used to think highly of vai,eat m n smile, passion n warfare,Alcatraz, now can't listen to him, didn't bother with gigs last year, polyphia just seem hype to me,Vai,beato utube ,signature ibanez, just being pushed, looked so uncomfortable jamming with Vai live

He became very ill after contracting Lyme's Disease and was bed-ridden for up to 23 hours a day. His music deals with his mental health issues, including psychosis. It's incredibly powerful and intelligent. Musically, very clever but, as many have said here, not really my cup of tea.

I hate it.

But that's fine, each to their own.

Massive fanboi here. Reckon he'll be in my top 2 most listed to this year. His newer stuff is excellent. Album due soon, and has potential to be number 1, which is impressive for an independent artist.

Worth checking his Youtube channel. Quite the talent I think. Seems to be influenced by a few other artists, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had received formal musical training at some point.

Tried to play along on day one and really struggled, more because I'm not intelligent enough than anything else.

Have listened to his music for the last year/18 months or so, and some of his more recent music, illest of our time, sick boi, suicide and animal flow are up there as some of my favourites because they all resonate for one reason or another.

His latest track just dropped.

Not sure you can call it a track... it's a work of art.

Like all art, it's pointless posturing to some and utterly 'real' to others. Anything that's not mainstream is polarising, but it all comes down to personal taste (unless you're a critic, in which case it's about how clever you can make yourself look, IMO)

It's not for me, but I love Cardiacs and Zappa, which many hate with a passion, so each to ttheir own.
