Wind & Wuthering - Genesis

For the umpteenth time! An underestimated masterpiece in my view.

The Orb/David Gilmour - Metallic Spheres
Is this any good? As a fan of The Orb's mid 90's stuff it's caught my attention.

Just bought White Lies new album today, Ritual.

More of the same I guess, but given White Lies' debut that's no bad thing.

Postcards From a Young Man by the Manic Street Preachers.

Fantastic album, obviously a bit samey, but I just listen to a few at a time. Some Kind of Nothingness is sublime. Here it is on Later with Jools Holand..

Can't wait to see them at the IOW Festival!

I think it is a little bit of a let down. I loved the first album, and thought this was growing on me but it seems to have peaked!

Anyway, this week I have bought "The Cold Still" by The Boxer Rebellion. After 2 listens some good tracks, but a little subdued in places. Their first two albums were great.

I get the feeling they've rushed it or cobbled it together. It leaves me feeling that the producer has had a big hand in how it sounds. I heard rumours that all was not well and that they allegedly labelled some of their own tracks as 'filler' which makes me suspect they are not entirely happy with it themselves. I am glad it is not just a continuation of the first album though and 'Peace And Quiet' really makes my drive to work quite enjoyable.
