ohh yess! do love a bit of grunge!

my faves,

Soundgarden - Superunknown, Badmotorfinger

Pearl Jam - 10, Vs (earlier the better with PJ IMO, although Yield is a cracking album too)

saw someone mention Kyuss "welcome to sky valley" tremendous record that, not quite sure if it truly qualifies as grunge though

Screaming Trees - Sweet Oblivion!
Good call.

I'll add Paw - Dragline, anything by Sonic Youth, Tad, Mrs Cobain's first two records & Sub Pop 200 - good early comp.

I got really into Grunge/powerpunk(?)/heavyish rock(whatever) in the early-mid 90's. Mainly the more commercial stuff, my cd's from that era include

Bush: 16 Stone
Everclear: Sparkle & Fade
Greenday: Dookie, Insomniac
Grinspoon: A guide to better living
Jebediah: Slightly oddway
Live: Throwing copper
Marcy Playground: Marcy Playground
Nirvana: Bleach, Nevermind, In Utero, Muddy Banks of the Wishkah
Offspring: Smash
Pearl Jam: Ten,Vitalogy
Radiohead: OK Computer
Rage against the machine: Untitled?
Silverchair: Frogstomp
Smashing Pumpkins: Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Soungarden: A sides
Stone Temple Pilots: 12 gracious melodies
Matthew Sweet: 100% Fun
Tool: Aenima
Veruca Salt: ,American Thighs, 8 arms to hold you

Oh and of course every JJJ Hottest 100 compilation from that era, some great stuff on those too.

A bit of a mix there, must put some on tonight thumbup

Kyuss - Blues For Red Sun
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Alice In Chains - Dirt
Corrosion Of Conformity - Deliverance
and for something a bit punky and leftfield from the same era: Fugazi - In On The Killtaker

Did they do a song called "We're Back, We're Pissed"?

I'd say possibly earlier Smashing Pumpkins than Siamese Dream, Gish is actually a very good album. And the B side album to Siamese Dream, Pisces Iscariot is bloody good. Have to say thought that songs like Mayonnaise, Disarm, and Soma, Today are brilliant, and personally far outclass Nirvana stuff.
to be fair though Mellon Collie was in places really good too, just it had a few too many filler tracks.

just interested to know what everyone made of thier latest album too?, i actually thought it was quite listenable although it got a bit of a slating from critics.

One criminally under-rated release, although not strictly grunge was Acid Bath - When The Kite String Pops, way ahead of it's time IMHO.

Hehe Grunge, here we go. Personally I love almost all Alice In Chains, I think they make Nirvana look shoddy. The offshoot of Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam et al. is early (Curb, State, Silver Side Up) Nickelback. Many of you may not like this, but personally, it's some of my favourite music!
