Any other fans? boxedin After a thread a week or so ago, I dug out my old Level 42 cd's, to give them another go! I'm somewhat embarassed to say they have been on fairly regularly! Anyone else have a musical confession?

He's a madman on the bass guitar thet Mark King.

Good band, if a little guilty of just being too normal.

He is a wiz on the bass, (funnily, that was the thread that got me digging out my 42!). I love the music, however, they are a bit staid! They have no rebeliousness, etc...

That's OK, I can easily see how they could be considered crap. It does seem to be an aquired ear that likes it! Very twangy, and just a bit 'odd'.

I didn't need anymore rebelliousness as a youngster, I had enough for the whole world.

No shame in that!

Listen to 'The Sun Goes Down' (live album), sheer brilliance!

actually I was teasing smile

My real musical confession is that I am a totally crap singer, cannot play so much as my daughter's recorder to save my life and am basically utterly hopeless in every musical sense.

I only ever bought one of their albums but "Something About You" is one of my all time favorite videos. Heck it's even got a Cobra replica in it.

Sorry about the Stage6 link but Youtubes version was crap quality.

Nowt wrong with a bit of Level 42.

I've got a few of their albums on cassette, cd and vinyl. I quite like their early stuff, the Albums 'Level 42' and 'The Pursuit of Accidents' are quite good.

I also like 'Running in the Family'.

Have I outed myself as a sad 80's music fan enough yet?

I'm sure there are a few of us in the woodwork...

I like electropop and new wave, in fact most 80's stuff.

I have even seen Duran Duran in concert. paperbag

Talking of electropop, I've always wanted a Minimoog synth, I have seen a few for sale on fleabay but they are always so hideously expensive. Actually, I wouldn't mind an example of any early 80's type synth, somthing by Roland or Korg would be a bit of fun.

Level 42 are one of my all time favourite bands, and I have seen them live several times.

My very favourite track has to be "Leaving Me Now"

Level 42 are one of the only mainstream bands I've ever really liked, and certainly the only '80s band that I still like. However, I do think it's mainly due to Mr King and his amazing bass playing. I prefer their earlier stuff, but they're still a good live band.

one of my favourite bands - Mark King is a maestro. They have a new album out, called 'Retroglide' - a lot like a MK solo album, but at least Mike Lindup is back on board.

As a bit of trivia...is Helen Chamberlain (Soccer AM) going out with MK's brother?
