Speaking of Telecasters...I was sleepily browsing the Warmoth site late yesterday night configuring a telecaster neck and body to how I'd want, using my own ESP LTD tele as a spring board and my experiences hence.
My own tele has a beautiful set of pickups and I was feeling it was getting wasted in that ESP. My gripe has been the thin neck, as since I've owned that tele, I've gotten along so well with a chunkier neck of my Tokai LP, with less cramping when playing too. Also grew to dislike the fake relicing... So I came up with this:
NECK

Neck Wood: Maple (One Piece)
Fingerboard: Maple

Tuner Ream: Gotoh/Grover (13/32" 11/32")

Fret #: 22

Inlays: Abalone Face Dots
Side Dots: Black Side Dots
String Nut: GraphTech Black TUSQ XL - Earvana Nut
Finish: Vintage Tint Satin Nitro
BODY
Model: Telecaster®
Orientation: Right handed
Scale: 25-1/2"
Wood: Alder
Rout: Top Rout
Pickup Rout: Humbucker (Neck), Tele® (Bridge)
Bridge: Tele® Bridge
Jack Rout: 7/8" (22mm) Side Jack Hole
Neck Pocket: Tele® Shape
Mounting Holes: Standard 4 Bolt
F-Holes: None
Battery Box: No Battery Box Rout
Top Finish: Black Gloss
Back Finish: Black Gloss
I had a crisis, and ordered them!
Found a friendly guitar tech today morning, who can assemble the lot for me. The guitar is gonna be a mish mash hardware wise, with parts borrowed from the ESP tele. Can't wait!
Of course, the new tele, rising from the ashes of the ESP is gonna inherit it's name too...The Black Widow

Yes I spent a few evenings browsing that site, nearly ordered a new neck from them myself, before I tried the 50s Classic in a shop.
The Tele came with a little 12 watt Orange amp which I've just been trying out...it's actually not too bad, quite a decent clean sound out of it despite the 6" speaker (closed back maybe helps). Gives a half decent rasp when cranked too, quite funny for such a tiny amp, not much bigger than a box of cereal.
That's quite a drop to £350 from £1000. I know the guy selling my Tele had it on Gumtree for nearly 4 weeks, slowly lowering the price (he didn't mention much about the included extras that would have cost another £200 when new on top of the guitar itself, which might have helped it sell quicker). So make sure you detail any extras and any links to the new price/nearest current equivalent to show what a bargain it is.

Ive had it since new and it was an impulse buy from a reputable "music" shop about 7 / 8 years ago.
If it was a specialist guitar shop I think it would have been 50-80 quid cheaper at least, hey ho.
some one came to look at it last night and started to play some nifty jazz chords - I thought if you were buying a jazz guitar an EC-1000 wouldn;t be high on the list any way he didn't bite....

i don't know ramsay. i want some work doing and had looked at his website but got no response to my email. i was going to go down there on saturday but looking at the pics and knowing how nice your guitars are gives me a lot of confidence.
i'll take some before and after pics if i go through with it, its quite a project given i can't play for toffee.
