Lets look at our guitars thread

My Epi LP was better than any of the "real" LP's that I've owned. Once I swapped the pups for Seymour Duncan items it was a peach.
I had Burstbuckers in mine, sounded fantastic! Had to get all the electrics re done as well but it was worth it.Sold in favour of a Gibson and I have never looked back. That is just two specific guitars though, I haven't tried any of the new LPJ / 70s tribute etc so it would be interesting to see how the Epi stacked up against them.

Been wanting one of these for ages. Finally treated myself a few months ago.
Played pretty well out of the box. Had it setup recently & it's a whole lot better now.
Lovely boxy sound, so comfortable to sit on the couch with & I personally love the look of it.
I've got a really nice gibson dreadnought that's been hardly touched since I got this.
Just need to get practicing with the finger picking & I'll be happy!

Nice. I was stuck between one of those and a Sigma 000M-15S to replace a nasty Norman acoustic that I sat on. In the end I picked up a lightly used Yamaha LS16M which was going for a song but still hanker for an all-mahogany model.Been wanting one of these for ages. Finally treated myself a few months ago.

I tried loads of all hog acoustics. Those sigmas a cracking value, almost went for the 00015 you mentioned. Loved the mahogany top gs mini too but don't rate the add on pick & just felt the solid wood guitars would age better.Took months deciding but just wanted the guild. Got a good deal on an ex display one. Really comes into it's own with alternate tunings. Massive Nick Drake fan so trying to perfect a few of his songs in CGCFCE.

What's the mini-toggle switch for?
I really can't remember. I sold my amp and leads ages ago so I have nothing to plug it in to. I should buy a little practice amp and have another go with it. It used to have a really good fat sound as far as I recall. What's the mini-toggle switch for?
I've wanted a white Custom ever since I first saw Thunder live in the late 80's/early 90's. Luke Morley made it look so .
Stick with it. LP's are an acquired taste. A guitar you learn to love in spite of the weight and ergonomics not because of them.
There has to be some penalty to looking that good

New guitar day!
I've only had a couple of 30 second plays just to make sure everything works and none of the switches are noisy. I did intend to play longer but I kept getting calls. It certainly wasn't long enough to appreciate and comment on the sound but I did get a feel for it and it wasn't quite what I expected. I had assumed with such a heavy body that the headstock would be pointing skywards but I was quite surprised that the neck angle stayed too flat to be comfortable. Also it didn't feel "right". I was quite happy last week swapping between my Jackson & the Strat and the Audition, even through the Strat was new to me it felt like a pair of comfy slippers. The Les Paul felt like I had someone else's shoes on the wrong feet.
Perhaps I just need more time with it. I could look at it for hours though, it really is a wonderful little thing to look at and its appearance is flawless.
I'll have to learn 20th Century Boy as I have a HH IC100 combo from the early 70's which I understand was the amp Marc Bolan used. While my Peavy Backstage is having a repair to its circuit board I got the big old HH out last night and spent a few hours experimenting with it with my Jackson and no pedals. The pair have a crystal clear clean sound but flick a switch labeled "Sustain" and you get quite a fizz but the weird thing is that the volume knob on the guitar affects the fizz far more than the volume and you can get some really nice Billy Gibbons tones out of it. You can however go properly mad and have pinched harmonics on the open bottom E although I have never tried doing that before so sorry if I am 60 years behind everyone else...
One cool thing was the backlit dials that could be read in the pitch dark, which is handy for stage work. I used this amp to test the Epiphone today with my Zoom 1010's tuner (which is the bypass to play clean). After tuning I forgot what I was doing and pressed the OD button, suddenly the volume doubles and it reminded me of Marty Mcfly being blown across Doc's workshop at the beginning of BTTF as this thing shook my dining room to pieces as christmas cards and (small paperback) books fell off the shelves...
Very nice. I too have a Les Paul itch...might have to be cured after Christmas, although I have no idea what I'm looking for. £300ish, so Epiphone, but Standard? Custom? Pro? Studio?I've only had a couple of 30 second plays just to make sure everything works and none of the switches are noisy. I did intend to play longer but I kept getting calls.
