My Pacifica 611:
And my 8yo sons 112:
He's been learning on a 3/4 acoustic at school for a year and he was desperate for an electric guitar so we got him one for Christmas.
I started teaching myself on boxing day using it (never even touched a guitar in my life before!) and was having so much fun decided to get myself a guitar too,
Mrs bought me the Pacifica 611 for my birthday in January and I love it. I've been practicing for about an hour every day since Boxing Day, learned A, Am, B, C, D, Dm, E, Em, F & G chords and a few riffs, just having lots of fun! I've been using andyguitar.co.uk which is great, had a couple of lessons from a local tutor too whch has been very helpful.

gents,
i'm looking for a low powered all tube amp. preferably with tube driven effects loop and spring reverb. asking a lot i know especially as i'll likely baulk when i see the prices such things fetch new.
seems that a cornford carrera fits the bill perfectly and they seem to sell at about £500 secondhand which is even better. can't seem to find one though, what else should i be looking at?

Sent a PM last night....
Did you hear back?Slightly off topic but guitar related, can anyone recommend a UK based person/company to do a full professional quality paint job on a guitar? Preferably London or Midlands based, but happy to go further afield if recommendations take me there. If it makes any difference, I am looking for a standard flat black finish on body and headstock and all cavities, with new decals applied.

Try this one, Jon Press in Bristol. The blue Gibson 335 in his gallery was mine.http://www.jp-guitars.co.uk/

Interesting he was schooled by PRS himself. Says a lot about his mentally. They look nice guitars, but out of my price rangeMy lad's guitars. Left to right.
1) Some sort of Ibanez that a visitor from Texas brought and didn't take home.
2) 1970's Gibson "The Paul" A bargain buy in Austin, Texas
3) Squier Precision Bass. Also left by Texan Visitor
4) Gibson SG Special. I won an ESP guitar in a competition in an American magazine. My son was in the States at the time and did a deal for it with the shop he collected the guitar from.
5) Fender Mexican Strat. His first guitar. Christmas present when he was 8.
There's also a pointy headed Jackson 7 string which is rather vulgar and never sees the light of day.
