Lets look at our guitars thread
Discussion
Here is my current collection. From left to right we've got a '92 American Fender Stratocaster, a '94 PRS Custom 22, an '07 Les Paul CR8 and an '04 Taylor 414 Limited Edition.
The Les Paul is a 1958 R8 VOS, but a limited edition chambered version so it only weighs about 7 3/4 pounds. The best playing Gibson Les Paul I've ever tried without a doubt. It took 2 years to come across this one!
The Custom 22 is from the first year of their production and sounds great. A really durable instrument. It's beaten up so I don't have to worry about bashing it into anything!
The Stratocaster plays really well but I hardly ever play it. It makes all of those lovely single coil sounds but ultimately I prefer humbuckers and hardtails really.
Alas I'm going to have to thin out my collection as I have bought a flat in London and it is both small and in need of renovation! The Fender and Gibson are on the chopping block unfortunately, the Fender because I never really gelled with it and the Gibson because, as much as I love it, it's worth too much money to keep. Where is the best place to advertise guitars these days? I used to use Musicradar but that had died last time I checked. Is there a replacement out there somewhere? Please save me from eBay!

The 2016 line up of Gibson electrics was officially released yesterday.

They've been very clever and come out with two lines: Traditional, returning to classic styling and High Performance which is basically a continuation of 2015'sG-Force tuning, adjustable metal nut and wider necks.
They must have a few of those robotuners in the inventory to shift!
I've ordered a classic Firebird
I see they have adjusted the price back to a some what sensible figure.http://www.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-u...

I recognise I couple of usernames on there from Musicradar so perhaps some people migrated. Thanks for the tip. So they are here, and I can show them properly with some back story.
So I've always liked Satch, and my favourite album is Time Machine. I always wanted a chrome guitar, so the genesis of an idea was forming. Why not have a chrome guitar with a hydro-dipped design on it? (A PH'er had posted pictures of hydro-dipped guitars - more on that later).
I'm also a comic book fan, so instead of the Silver Surfer (surfing with the alien), I'd have Deadpool or Magneto - which ever design came out better.
A quick search on 'people per hour' resulted in commissioning an artist in Ireland to draw what was in my head...
The story board
Deadpool would be running on his logo instead of the clocks (a perfect description of his insanity), and Magneto would be flying with the clocks closest to him going all Dali with his magnetic field.
Preliminary sketches
A bit closer look at the main protagonists
The sketches were agreed on and delivered, and at this point a wonderful man called James Lythgoe at Liquid Grafix came along. A PH'er who hydro-dips just about anything worked with me and he found the correct way to get the film custom printed and put on the guitar. It may be a world first....
The only sad note is that the chrome design had to fall by the wayside - the key for it was too harsh for the thin film, so it would have looked terrible. Therefore a nod to the original artwork was decided on.
And here they are. I'm a very happy boy. Oh, and they will be going to meet Mr Satriani on Tuesday....
Sorry, slightly out of focus but it shows the wrap-around.
As a pair they are stunning. Beside the Universe, they should really stand out. I just need to wait for the house building to finish before they go up on the wall properly....

Since last tuesday i've found myself playing the JS1000 all the time for some reason!
I've had mine for a few years now (not sure is a '1000 or a '1200), but I just can't get on with it. I must have played it less than twice a year so far, just haven't got round to putting it on eBay.I play mine quite regularly, just since seeing Joe last week it's replaced the Eric Johnson strat in my 'arms reach' rack and it's been played more in the last week than it has for a while - though the Gilmour strat has been No1 since it arrived relegating all the others to occasional use.
