I use an attenuator so that I can get the tone of the amp cranked up without the massive volume, even a 7W tube amp could produce a metric stload of noise...
Very true. My mate has just bought an Orange Dark Terror and it is bloody loud in 7w mode. Sadly my 60w Blackstar can't be turned down, think I will be replacing it soon!
Actually my 1 watt Marshall JMP-1H is too loud for home use when fully cranked up, so I tend to use it in 0.1 watt mode or run in 1 watt at lower volume (ie cleanish) and use my Plexi Drive into it.

It arrived with strings but they were a bit too rusty to play.
Stripped it down, cleaned it, polished the frets, oiled the board etc Pulled the pickups out to find it's got a DiMarzio PAF PRO in the neck and a DiMarzio Fred in the bridge. I expected the guitar to be stock so that was a nice surprise
I picked up an acoustic, the first one I've owned in a few years.
It's a Martin Dreadnought Junior and it is rather nice. I played a few guitars, knowing I wanted a smaller acoustic, so after playing a few I ended up with the Taylor GS Mini and the Martin. The Taylor looked a bit fancier, had a more flexible EQ for the pickup, was much brighter and more mids-focused, but also had a really weird neck profile, as it if was quite fat in the middle but with very slim shoulders, which felt pretty unnatural. The Martin looks a bit plainer (but it's still very pretty in an understated way imo), had a more balanced tone with that trademark Martin growl and a nice nicer neck profile, which is a fairly small C profile.
I think I would have been happy with either, but imo the Martin's balanced tone edged it for me and the neck felt good off that bat, rather than being something I'd need to get used to.

Awesome!
I've been shopping today too - crap photo...
Been after an LP for a while, tried 3x traditional T's, a couple of standards (HP, and T) and the studio, loved the standard T, didn't like the HP neck and not fussed about the auto tuner. Standard T didn't feel worth the extra over the trad T. had a choice of honey burst, desert burst and Iced Tea and plumped for desert burst. Love it already!
