I fking LOVE the blue one! Very nice indeed.
It can be yours! Status basses are made to order, but they usually have a few stock basses, of which this is one:http://www.status-graphite.com/status/frames/index... > Online Shop > Stock Basses > fourth row down!

Finally ordered one!
Status Kingbass Paramatrix, 32" scale with bendwell and 16.5mm string spacing. I'm having it in Masur birch with aqua blue sunburst tint and white LEDs, so it will have the same finish as this Series 3, but with the blue tint on the back as well, and with gold hardware.

Looking to downsize my Blackstar HT Stage 60 to something a bit more sensible, and these have caught my eye:

A VOX with an attenuator so can be played at sensible volumes! There is an AC30 as well. Has anyone tried one yet?
Had a go with an AC10 combo the other day, that is a seriously nice piece of kit too.

GAH! Damn this thread!!!! I was curious as to the identity of the 'Northern Guitar shop' for the Gibsons. Thought it was Andertons.
Though they didn't have any specials on Gibsons, I seemed to have ordered one of these for the collection - price was too good to ignore!
Time for some fretboard tapping
These are nice guitars, I've played a few - one in each colour scheme actually, if I was buying I'd have gone for the same one as you, the best Eddie colours imo.Though they didn't have any specials on Gibsons, I seemed to have ordered one of these for the collection - price was too good to ignore!

Also, dat Status.

Well I'm a guitarist really and have been singing mostly for the last 3 years so can't really justify a lovely bass like that!http://www.status-graphite.com/status/frames/index... > Online Shop > Stock Basses > fourth row down!

Very nice - currently pondering what to do with my bonus this year (April)... torn between a 4-String Dingwall Z3 to compliment my 5-String and a Status (Chris Wolstenholme model)... Bonus won't stretch to both. The Dingwall will be expensiver by a big margin!

Top class! The Status Kingbass is about the one bass (aside from a Wal) that I've really dreamed of owning and never got round to. I mainly play 6 strings now so I'll probably never get a Kingbass (although there was a guy on Talkbass with a 6 string Kingbass Standard, it looked like a right boat anchor). A few times I came close to buying a used Standard or a used Artist but it never worked out. I note that Mark went back to playing the first generation Kingbass model quite soon after getting his Mk2.I'm looking to order a Carvin Allan Holdsworth H2 this year. I'm still fussing over the spec, but I'll get there.
First post in this thread - my latest acquisition that I brought home last night. It's nothing compared to some on here but plays nice and sounds great. Apologies for the picture quality, just late night phone pics for now!
It's a Vintage V100MRPGM Lemon Burst, and yes it's the wrong way round. It's their interpretation of the famous Peter Green/Gary Moore Les Paul and includes the reversed neck pickup for that middle position out-of-phase sound. Solid one-piece Mahogany body, Maple cap with flamed maple veneer, Mahogany neck (scarf jointed headstock which some won't like, but it adds a little strength and you can barely see the join). Does what it says on the tin really. Has a pseudo-relic'd appearance which is actually very subtle on the top, I've seen others which are much more pronounced, and the effected buckle rash on the back:
The finish is a nice satin rather than gloss which makes it a little slippery but also a wee bit different. I'm probably going to change the pots to decent CTS ones, change the 0.15uf Orange drop caps for 0.22s, put a decent Switchcraft 3-way switch on it, but that'll be about all. It just wants the heck played out of it!
Also picked this little fella up at the weekend for a song (I know this is a guitars thread, but it is related!):
As strictly a bedroom guitarist 5w is more than enough for me.
I also have a Squire ProTone Strat, an old Eko Rio Bravo 12 acoustic 12-string, and a Tanglewood copy of a Warwick Thumb bass, but don't have any photos of them to hand.

Every left hand guitar looks wrong! I've never agreed with them anyway, my brother is left handed and he decided he wasn't going to limit his choice of instruments so he learned to play right handed. Everyone struggles with coordination to start with, and you might as well go with right handed instruments.

It's probably just me, but I can never get my head round LH versions of iconic guitars. I know it's down to familiarity and that, but they always look somehow 'wrong' and awkward.
Nope, not just you - even as a lefty I think that they do look a bit...well, just wrong! I guess we're so used to seeing them in their usual righty configuration that it takes a while for our eyes to adjust.Gassing Station | Music | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
