Completely forgot to post this when I bought it.

Fender Aerodyne Stratocaster, I think it's from 2004 or 2005.

Purchased for eBay a few months ago, and I absolutely love it thumbup

Lovely. What's different about these to a normal Strat?

Belated Christmas present from someone (yes, in August). Time to find the screwdrivers...

They're made in Japan so the quality is consistent and excellent LOL.

Main difference is the body profile - heavily sculptured and contoured compared to a standard 'slab' like Strat. Bound front edge like a Les Paul. That one is the more common (and unusual construction) Mk2 - all the electrics load from the rear with no scratch plate - totally opposite to how a Strat normally is. Mine is a Mk1 which is more Strat like build (electrics are scratch plate mounted) but with the contoured body.

The Aerodyne Tele's are lovely things too.

I have an Aerodyne P Bass also.

There was a time when Sound Control Newcastle always had an Aerodyne jazz bass on the wall.

Sorry for a bit of a thread detail but as most of PHs guitarists have probably been here I thought I would ask a quick question

I have a Tele classic vibe and having raised the bridge pickup from its low position I'd like to raise the neck pickup too. They're Alnico 3s I believe, but they've got nothing on the screws to push the pickup up? I need springs or tubing and if tubing, what length do I need? Its needs raising about 2mm. Thanks!

A piece of stiff foam under the pickup will do very nicely.

I thought I'd try and get a quick photo of my Richie Kotzen Strat in the sun, but as soon as I got outside the sun went in. Still looks nice though!

I'm losing my guitar room at home to make way for a new nursery and plan to sell a few guitars, however nothing motivates me to do that more than buying a new one first.

I went to Andertons and tried a Les Paul Gold top and didn't really find it very inspiring, so I tried a few different Ibanez just to mix things up a bit. I then picked up a Fender Elite HSS Stratocaster and it seemed pretty good. I played it through a 2x12 Marshall JVM and was hooked, so here it is:

The strange functionality of the s1 and humbucker switch is new to me, but it seems pretty cool/useful. Time will tell if I'm tempted to replace the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan JB.

That is absolutely gorgeous!

I played a sienna burst hss deluxe a few months back (just before they brought the elite out) and was sorely tempted.

I really want to try a Les Paul with p90's...and think the goldtop would probably be my choice. What didn't you like about it?

Child 2 has declared this to be surplus to requirements as she now has a Tele Custom with P90's.

Standard sized neck and hardware but 3/4 size body. It's a bit rubbish in its current state if I'm honest and worth bugger all, but I'm tempted to do a bit of upgrading and see what it's like smile

Thank you. I've really got back into my Strats ever since a colleague brought his battered early 90s Squire in for me to set up and mess about on a few months ago.

I played the Deluxe too and didn't find it quite as well set-up as the Elite. There was just something about the Elite that really worked for me.

I think the Goldtop was neither here nor there for me. I've got a LP 1960 Reissue Custom which I seem to compare every LP that I play to these days and it just didn't have the soul that that guitar has. It also didn't have the bite of my Epi LP with Seymour Duncans either. In the end it was just a nice LP, but it didn't blow my socks off...then I eventually picked up the Elite Strat and it just screamed "buy me". smile

Talking about old 90's Squiers....I managed to get my hands on a my first guitar model. I sold my old one a while back, and now I'm back playing again, felt I should have it back.

It's a Korean made Squire Strat, candy apple red with a humbucker. I remember it being really uninspiring to play, so we'll see what happens.

(Sellers image - it's currently in the post).

I agree, lovely guitar Mastodon2.

Vaguely on topic; has anyone noticed the price of amps seems to have jumped up lately? I've had my eye on some kind of Fender head to go with my small collection of Marshall, Vox & Orange. However, the newer Bassbreaker heads have gone up by over 20% since they were launched earlier this year (but not actually available/in stock in the UK until recently). I had a look at some of their reissue combos too today, the Deluxe and Twin models and they too have jumped up a similar amount.

I've also been thinking that I might treat myself to a 'proper' Gibson LP standard once we've finished a big project redoing our living room/home cinema, depending how flush I'm feeling by then. I've been watching prices and at one point there was a suitable model for around £1,499, but this seems to have gone up to £2,099 now. I've since seen a few used ones towards the lower end of my budget, so maybe I'd be better off just waiting for the right used one to turn up once I'm happy to commit the spend.

I think the days of things getting cheaper as time goes on are starting to pass.

It used to be cheap to buy pickups from the USA but really not worth it now IMHO.

I've sold a few guitars on eBay recently and they have made good money too - not high end but mim fenders etc

I haven't asked them why, it's just an observation, but I guess the exchange rate must have something to do with it post Brexit vote.

For the first time, I grouped all but one of my guitars together and took a photograph of them. Unfortunately, I have to sell the SG and the Ibanez Artcore, but the rest will stay.

Incidentally, does anyone know what the burled maple Artcore is worth? Some sources say that they are a rare thing and worth quite a bit. In general though, the Artcore is not a pricey guitar.
