Zero for sale on Reverb or the 'bay. Artcores seem to go from £200+. Sorry, can't help further than that - it is a good looking thing though! I've had a look through Jemsite as well...

Hi

Just finished these two off as a summer project, only the truss rod covers to go. One for me, one for my daughter

Thanks Don. I can't seem to find one for sale anywhere either, so perhaps that answers my question. I'll go high initially and see what happens.

I presume you meant that you had made them yourself ?

If so, good work.

Yes, I just bought the wooden bodies and the fretted necks. It was great learning to paint the sunburst and do the complete assembly, glueing the neck was a heart in mouth moment though.

What wood are the bodies? It looks a bit maple-y on the sunburst one.

I agree, lovely guitar Mastodon2.

Vaguely on topic; has anyone noticed the price of amps seems to have jumped up lately? I've had my eye on some kind of Fender head to go with my small collection of Marshall, Vox & Orange. However, the newer Bassbreaker heads have gone up by over 20% since they were launched earlier this year (but not actually available/in stock in the UK until recently). I had a look at some of their reissue combos too today, the Deluxe and Twin models and they too have jumped up a similar amount.

I've also been thinking that I might treat myself to a 'proper' Gibson LP standard once we've finished a big project redoing our living room/home cinema, depending how flush I'm feeling by then. I've been watching prices and at one point there was a suitable model for around £1,499, but this seems to have gone up to £2,099 now. I've since seen a few used ones towards the lower end of my budget, so maybe I'd be better off just waiting for the right used one to turn up once I'm happy to commit the spend.

I think the days of things getting cheaper as time goes on are starting to pass.
Using Brexit as an excuse ?
I haven't asked them why, it's just an observation, but I guess the exchange rate must have something to do with it post Brexit vote.
I think it's very much down to the exchange rate post Brexit vote. Have you seen the £/$ rate? As a result the importers took the opportunity for a big price hike to keep their profits up. Even the Squier Affinity beginner kits are knocking on for £200 now, and were more like £140 a couple of years ago.

They are mahogany bodies but have a very thin maple layer to get the burst effect

Black.

Kicking myself for not buying one 2 years ago; it was white and I'm not keen on white guitars.

It's a man's guitar though, especially the neck.

Fate brought me and this beauty together this week:

Guitar No.9 but I'm not done yet...my wife really doesn't understand GAS!!

Taken apart, cleaned, restrung with a set of Nanoweb 10s and fully set up....everything is now perfect smile

Man maths doesn't even come into it when dealing with the ladies! I have an experiment for you; sit the wife down, give her a pencil and paper and ask her to draw you a guitar (making sure there isn't one visible to copy from of course). The result will look like no guitar you've ever seen!

This is of course true of most non-musicians; they can't tell one guitar from another. I'm lucky enough not to have a wife, but when my mother lived with me, she never noticed when I bought another guitar. (Of course if I'd bought a yellow one or a pink one, she'd have noticed that.)

Some wives get it. Some don't. Mine has just allowed me to put this up.... and she brought me the middle one.

Hold on to her!

I have a telecaster and a les paul, showed her a photo of a strat style guitar apparently it looked the same as my other two. For my sanity im discounting the Martin acoustic i own as theres no way she could of thought that looks the same as the others! Could she??

I'd tell her all the shoes she owns look the same? Wouldn't that balance it out? wink
