It still doesn't stop me wanting That tweed case for my Tele though!
Andertons sell them and I'm sure others will too:https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/0996105300/hard-case...
Big week for my frivolous guitar purchases
I needed a head for my old Marshall 2x12 cab that I bought ages ago but never really used, I wanted something with nice cleans and a decent drive, and no too expensive.
I'd heard good things about the new Fender BassBreaker series, and it seemed to tick all the boxes so I've bought the 15 watt head version (pic from google, better than any off my phone)
First new bit of guitar gear I've bought in years, I usually buy used but it only came out this year
And next, this arrived today off eBay, 1999 Japanese Fender Jaguar, Candy Apple Red, matching headstock, utterly beautiful. I've always fancied a Jaguar, and this popped up at a reasonable price (sellers pic)
Very pleased with it

Good stuff
Always liked the Japanese stuff and the matching headstock really sets it off
Thanks Always liked the Japanese stuff and the matching headstock really sets it off
Yea, this is my second Japanese Fender, I've also got a black aerodyne strat which is superb.
The only thing I can fault them for is they both have the vintage style tuning heads which are an absolute ballache when it comes to re-stringing

Nice Tele. Definitely on my list.
I've been waiting for a 2016 Firebird since last October and was about to get the last one when I noticed the 2017 ones are about to be released and they now do it in blue. So, which one, classic or blue?
Blue looks absolutely killer and more in keeping with the original imoI've been waiting for a 2016 Firebird since last October and was about to get the last one when I noticed the 2017 ones are about to be released and they now do it in blue. So, which one, classic or blue?

I'm totally sold on Japanese Fenders; I've just sold a MIJ ST62 Strat in Sonic Blue - I'd had it since 1996, the longest I've ever kept a guitar and it was a reluctant sale but I really have too many guitars now and something has to go to make room for recent new arrivals. Also the friend who bought it fell in love with it the moment he saw it, so I knew it was going to a good home.
Trouble is, I've got withdrawal symptoms already and am now looking at a similar one in Candy Apple Red.

Evangelion, have you posted pictures of your collection? I'd be interested in seeing it
If you have I'll scroll back and have a look, don't worry about reposting.
I believe I have in the past, but I haven't photographed any of the new arrivals so will have to make a start on that shortly. When I do I'll post some here. In the meantime, here's the one I just sold.If you have I'll scroll back and have a look, don't worry about reposting.
I really should dust off and play more often!
My collection so far:
Left to right:
Fender Telecaster - Mexican
My 18th Birthday present from my folks, my first electric guitar
Since upgraded the pots and tone
Still a cracking guitar and my "fall back"
Gretsch - Electromatic
My 30th birthday prezzi from Mrs Haddock
I love this thing!
Bought it second hand for a steal it had never been played!
1954 Boosey & Hawkes "Zenith"
Now this is my acoustic
Its a bit special, well it would be....
See this is the exact same guitar model as Paul McCartneys first ever guitar
Made by Boosey & Hawkes in the mid 50's it was a copy of an Epiphone
Its old, it has a high action (i've tweaked it as best as possible) but it has a great sound
My dad gave me this guitar many moons ago,
He was given it when he moved to London in the 70's by a friend
Now this thing would potentially be worth a few quid these days, one small problem though...
My dad was given it in 2 pieces! It was dropped and the head snapped off! So he set it with resin as best as possible.
Apparently it was terrible for going out of tune, but when i got it, it had been sat in the loft for about 20 years. In that time the resin seems to have finally hardened and now it holds it tune perfectly.
SO there ya go! My little collection

They're worth about £30 these days unfortunately, but I'll be generous and pay you £40.
They would be, but with that worn out fretboard it be harder to sell at that price. The very earliest JV guitars did have a Fender logo on them, so it might not have been stuck on afterwards. I was unlucky with my JV Strat as I ordered it based on trying one in the shop in a different colour, when my 2 tone '57 style one turned up they'd changed to the 'Squier' logo on the headstock. It's still a great guitar though, so I understand why people might be willing to pay £40 for one.

Got my three out for a quick blast today.
The Burny is a 1977 and is a truly special guitar. It just sings and plays itself, sounds seriously angry as well. I'd easily put it on par with a good high end USA Gibson (and I don't subscribe the Gibson are rubbish either, they are a solid product).
This is a new'ish guitar,it's a PRS SEHolcolmb signature model. Basically a CU24 with a hard tail, 25.5" scale and a 20" radius ebony board. It plays nicely, sounds immense and I love the burst, reminds me of the now sadly defunct Paul Allender model from back in the day.
It's only a veneer top but looks pretty intense.
The last one is a very special guitar, it's the only guitar I know will never be sold and I'll leave to my children, in terms of actual rarity or interest it's nothing special but it's sentimental value is immense.
This is an EBMM JP6 (Petrucci signature) that belonged to my late father in law. I owned a white one and he found it was the nicest neck shape he could play that would accommodate his wrist problems so we hunted this one down as he was specific in what he wanted, red, no shields or piezo and a bit of birdseye and this was what we found. I got a friend to ship it from America and he played it everyday he could until he became to sick to play and when he passed, unknown to me, he requested that it came to me.
I find it very hard to play it, it's a wonderful instrument but I find it a very raw feeling to play it still. I know my wife finds it hard sometimes if I forget to put it away.
