No, he has said that they would charge me to get it fixed.
Edit:
Brand new guitar, told them it was wrong quickly, it took a while to get it down to them (working a lot, 120 mile round trip), yes it shouldn't be like that. Then multiple missed messages, before I am told they would charge me to fix the problem.

A small update - Andertons have now offered to pick the guitar up free of charge to get it looked at by their workshops. I have politely said no, the guitar is now with Guitar Works in Ware for finishing and set up. Chapman have repeated the offer as well.
<shrugs> Not a lot I can do or say really. Guitar Works did say that the flamed maple top was very nice though!

After years of debate I finally got round to putting a pair of Bareknuckle 'Mule' pickups in my 1989 Epiphone Les Paul. I tried the 2017 Gibson models and found that I just prefer the well worn in and very slim neck this has, so decided that £200 for pickups (and later another £80 for a fret leveling/pro set up) would be a better use of my money.
I bought this in 1995 as a 30th birthday present to myself, but someone on the MyLesPaul forums decypered the date from the serial number and it turns out to have been made in 1989. I don't know what happened to it for 6 years but I definitely bought it new as it still had all the clear cellophane on the pickups, guard and rear plastic bits.
Anyway, I took a few photos earlier today to give me an excuse to try out my new camera:
Showing the new Gold knobs and metal pointers I've fitted (CTS pots and orange drop capacitors underneath that I changed a while back due to crackles):
Not bad nick for a 28 year old budget guitar. Considering it weighs a ton it should have suffered a big drop by now, but only has a small mark near the jack socket to give away it's age, plus the yellowed plastic bits.
Sounds superb through my recently purchased Marshall Mini Jubilee.

Thanks; I was going to get a Riff Raff for the bridge, but I got this Mule set for £195 at Andertons which was about £65 less than buying direct from Bareknuckle. However, there is a possibility that I might buy a 335 type guitar in the future, so I may buy a Riff Raff set and swap the LP bridge over and fit the same mix in the 335.
By strange coincidence there was a guy at college last night with a near identical Epiphone of the same age. His had the standard pickups in it, so I was glad to hear a more direct comparison after my upgrade...it was worthwhile.

My son has an epi les paul which I think is late 90's. It's a nice guitar but the pickups are very weak. We did a back to back with that, my lp with the standard burst buckers and my old burny. The Burny and LP were almost identical.
I put a £25 set of Warmans in my Epi LP and they transformed it. I still never quite get along with it though, I dont know if it's neck profile or general set up. I've tinkered lots, and it's just not quite right. I put a set of the Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pups in a Hohner LP I have, also changed the wiring around and new pots/caps. The only thing it has against it is the badge, but for everything else it holds it's own against a Gibson very well. And it's a gold top, which is always nice.
The SD's I can recommend if you want to spend money, the Warmans I can recommend if you want to spend money elsewhere and still get a nice tone.

Funny; I was away with work last night, so I was watching Andertons videos in my room and a watched a couple of 335 comparisons. I should really set my next milestone birthday as the point to treat myself to a 335, but I suspect that I won't wait another 9 years. Chicken Chaser said:

Thanks very much, since the latest upgrades it has really turned into a great sounding guitar too.Don1 said:
So my Chapman Norseman turned out to have some finishing issues. Been trying to get a response out of Chapman and a certain Guildford based distributor for months.
They have finally said they will fix it for a price as it is cosmetic (from new). I have told them to sling their hook. A pity, as my next few guitars were going to come from there, including a stunning PRS custom I had seen...
What a pity. It's off to a local luthier on Monday, hopefully for a cheap easy fix.
This is a huge shame. 90% of my transactions with said company have been great (I'm local, so have been in a lot and purchased a lot) and some of the staff are certainly better than others. Although once while getting some advice in there, the salesman tried to push me for an almost 1.5k sale on the spot (I came in to that department after purchasing some bits for one of my guitars to have a brief look in, the salesman asked what I was looking for, said I was just browsing to get an idea of pricing whilst I'm here.) and then got an attitude with me when I wouldn't buy on the spot - Considering I've spent ££££s in there and purchased some bits all of 10 minutes ago, I'd expect better. But that's an exception and I'm surprised about the customer service in your instance. They have finally said they will fix it for a price as it is cosmetic (from new). I'd always been a bit dubious about that particular music shop due to all the awards they have, they seem to create new awards they've "won" on a weekly basis. I have purchased through them via their website and not had any issues, only pedals though. Any cosmetic problems with an instrument would be a major issue for me and one I'd expect completely sorted or refunded. Given their association and investment in the Chapman brand you think they'd be more interested in keeping customers happy and identifying weaknesses in their QC.
Real quick question folks, concerning guitar amps. I'll deliberately leave it general and vague before getting onto specifics, which I promise I will do!
Tube amp head (twin channel with ECC83s & 6L6s) & matching cab, all from the same manufacturer. When changing channels, should the amp 'pop' noticeably? Either footswitch, or using the toggle on the head itself. Only does it when going from dirty to clean, never the other way around.
As you can tell, I'm having issues but have never purchased a tube amp before, much less a separate head & cab. Just wondering if it's normal for all tube amps to do it, or just some manufacturers, or whether it's just mine. Never had this issue on previous transistor combos, but obviously they're very different beasts.
