I like them. I've put a set of reflectors on one of my Lesters.

And presumably a nice thin neck if the knobs are a deliberate choice?
Dunno, not my guitar. AFAIK, it came from Ebay. Yes, neck is more Fender than Gibson. Shallow D profile is the best I can equate it to.

Just the colour i don't like really, I would of gone for something a little more contrasting. Lovely top though, love the colour.

Just finished putting the new transformer and choke in my beasty.

So now... it's a proper hot-rod, of a hot-rod. 12" ElectroVoice EVM12L speaker instead of the standard 2x10" Celestions, which has resulted in a much better bottom end and it generally sounds a lot more pristine. The new transformer and choke (did both at the same time) have generally improved the response, bass in particular, and made the sound a lot smoother/crisper. The distortion channel doesn't sound like a bottle of Coke any more, and the clean channel is gorgeous.

I've kept all the original bits, just in case I ever have to sell it. Not that I want to. Ever. This cured my amp GAS years ago, and nothing's changed. smile next step will be to cure the reverb hiss, and remove a couple of capacitors- on the advice of Bruce Zinky, who designed it!

Looks good, and I daresay it meets your requirements exactly. Would you like to tell us about the parts and where they came from?

mais oui, mais oui ....... it comprises a Mighty Mite neck, a guitarbuild.co.uk Body, TV Jones Powertron, pretty generic machine-heads (ebay), Fender hard tail bridge, CTS pots (500k Volume and 250k Tone), .1 and .022uf caps and 4.7k ohm resistor. The Paint is from specialistpaints.com ....candy green with green flake on top.....all told I probably spent £350-400 on parts.

Its the first time I have ever done anything like this, and have to say I am pleasantly surprised ......there are things I would now do differently (like using grain filler!! - why did I not know about this!!??? smile ) ....but it sounds great ...and best of all? - I MADE IT!

Great work. It's addictive! I'm planning my second (this time an acoustic) but 3 month old twins have put paid to that for the time being.

I love that, the colour really suits it too. Kind of a cross between an Esquire and a Carbronita? Thinking about trying some mods to my Affinity Tele since I seem to be playing it quite a lot: It cost buttons (12 years ago) so no harm in changing the bridge for a vintage one and converting it to through strung and spraying it a lary colour not unlike yours.

May have posted here before... but there's definitely new since then.

L-R : My second guitar, Ibanez GRX-70. I wanted a 'nez and it was cheap. My 3rd guitar, Ibanez RGT42 with Dimarzio Breed Bridge and Air Norton neck. My 1st guitar, a starter kit "encore".

A cheap Hudson acoustic I picked up for fiddling around with.

This is my latest, Lag T66ACE. I rather like it.

In the background is a Lorenzo 'bluebird' 12string I was gifted by my father in law.

He also gave me this :

I believe it is a '63 AC30.

I also have a Vox AD50VT but no pics of that. Boss DS-1 and a Dunlop Crybaby too.

^^^ I'd be tempted to re-cover that in the correct Tolex material, if you can find it. Has it got the blue speakers?

It does indeed. I'd be surprised if it had been recovered with different material before? When I tried to do some research into exactly when it was made I seem to recall there were a few months that they looked like this one.

Right. Either way, it's a fabulous amp. Nothing sounds like them in the world. Here's mine, it's -as far as we know - a 1964, they can be hard to date as JMI didn't routinely distinguish them on the serial plates.

How did you guess?

Apart from that I've always had a thing for black superstrats anyway which actually probably comes more from Scott Ian being an influence.
