If we're talking vocal ability then my vote would probably have to go to Jeff Buckley.

From someone who has the vocal ability of Andrew Ridgley, I'd like to have the vocal ability of:

Soundgarden era Chris Cornell

Or, if I had a front bottom, my mate Jan (she has no idea how good she is)

That reminds me - Alice in Chains should have a new album out later this year - does anyone know if the new guy (William Duvall?) is any good?

I always thought Layne would be ireplaceable...

I also read that Soundgarden reformed without Chris Cornell - and played earlier this month..

For me it would have to be the one, the only, Mike Patton.

From screaming to crooning, normally in the same song. Legend.

Josh Todd and Chris Cornell are ones I thought of too. Possibly Bono as well.

I'd like to sound like James Hetfield, from the Black Album.

Does it have to be singing?

Because if I had the diction and timbre of Jeremy Brett, I'd be most pleased.

Roger Daltrey. In fact I think I'd probably settle for just being able to sing "Behind Blue Eyes" like he does/did...

+1 for Freddie Mercury, such a distinct voice too.

For female Ella Fitzgerald.
And another... Superb voice.
