Recommend me some big band music

I'm looking for some big band music for my Dad, but am really struggling to find the kind of thing I have in mind. I'm looking for things like the bluesy/rock 'n' roll style things Jools Holland does with his big band. Does anyone have recommendations of similar bands/songs?

Depends on which era or style of big band you think he'd like. Jools can run the whole gamut from Louisiana / Delta blues, through swing and boogie woogie.

Not sure if it's 'Big Band' but I've got a few Cd's which I think are from the same series; In-Flight Entertainment and Further In-Flight Entertainment are my favs but there is one called Espresso, as well as one with a Brazillian theme...

my favourite would be Lavern Baker - 'Saved'. an asbsolute corker of a song, though might be hard to track down. its on CD on the atlantic r&b collection. can;t find it on youtube.
