Sorry, much as I like the 'V' and explorer, I think this is horrid, and for being a 'holy' grail' of guitars, I just don't get it.

Likewise for this new holy explorer - Emperor's new clothes, anybody

For my money they were doing pretty well up until they reached the headstock[1]...

The top "shape" guitar for me is and I suspect always will be the Firebird/Thunderbird (in original "reverse" form) - adventurous and aggressive without trying too hard and those cool banjo style tuners were nice too.

I owned a Firebird for a while, it was a PITA to play due to the excessively neck heavy balance which made that notoriously fragile headstock dive for the ground every time I so much as relaxed my left hand but I loved it anyway and of all the things I've ever sold/lost/broken[2] it's probably the one I miss the most

[1] What were they taking when they designed that! I mean just look at the path the strings take from the nut to the tuners - even without a trem I bet it's an absolute nightmare to keep in tune...

[2] It got PXed for a Fender Japan Stratocaster which is a lovely guitar that sees more use in a week that the 'bird would have done in six months, which I've also grown very fond of in the 23- years I've owned it, and which with the addition of a set of Bare Knuckles "Slow Hand" pickups is sounding better than ever!
