The thing that gets me is the moronic lyrics.
Flicked over onto Glastonbury last night and the manky frontwoman was just going yeah yeah yeah (or something like that), so I turned over, after about 30 seconds scooting through the channels I ended up back on Glastonbury, and she was now singing, The Drums, The Drums, The Drums, The Drums, The Drums, The Drums, The Drums, The Drums.......FFS woman shut up.
Then there is that other song, That's Not my Name, That's not my name, that's not my name, that's not my nnnnnnnnn.................ame. Yes we get the message
Don't know where this thing has come from where you have to repeat the same words or verse, over and over and over again.
Scouting For Girls are another band who seem to do this.
Do they not have a wide enough vocabulary to write different lyrics rather than constatntly repeating?
You listen to european bands, i.e Scandanavia and their lyric writing (in English) is far better than a lot of ours.

But that's exactly my point - since they appeared about 2 years ago they've written NOTHING new and just churn out the same old pap. They seemed good when they first appeared but they haven't progressed one iota since. That drives my "Emperor's New Clothes" position - people think they're good because they've been told they're good, but actually, stand back and look/listen for a moment and see what's actually missing......I wouldn't expect them to blow me away with their live performances, but that is doesn't mean their crap.
